Players are divided on this match-3 game with RPG progression mechanics. Supporters praise its depth, lack of paywalls or energy systems, and the interplay between two different match-3 modes, though they acknowledge it has a poor tutorial and steep learning curve. Critics complain the game hits progression walls early on, features an outdated mobile-game design ill-suited for PC, and note the developer abandoned it nearly two years ago with no completion in sight.

"Efir Adventure: Matchcraft" is an attempt to wrap RPG progression type mechanics around what basically amounts to a Candy Crush ripoff. The idea is that you play Match-3 games to collect stuff to upgrade your "warship" so you can then play more Match-3 games. I mean... look, if you need to find excuses to play a Match-3 game, maybe you don't really want to play a Match-3 game. Anyway this was a huge flop on Steam due to weak technical delivery and a game design premise that seems to have been intended for mobile apps, but the developer got confused and thought people who spend thousands of dollars on high end gaming rigs want to play iPhone games. The developer was wrong. The developers abandoned this 1 year and 10 months ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. While I couldn't find this on the mobile app stores, everything about it looks and feels like it's a mobile app designed for mobile phones... for PC gaming enthusiasts, it's not going to give you a cutting edge PC gaming experience. That alone is enough to disqualify this from any recommendation. We don…2 found this helpful
Has potential but as it is right now, no. You basically reach a point where you can get no further, very early in game. You can't improve anything ship or items. So basically stuck. So either reduce level of enemies or give ways to improve ship. If they fix that this game has potential. For now, nope 3/10.1 found this helpful
One of the best match 3 I've played. There's a lot of depth and different mechanics. The tutorial isn't great but figuring out how everything works is worth the time. Have patience and you'll realise just how good this is. Is it polished - no. Can it be frustrating - yes. Is it free - yes. Does it have micro transactions - no. Does it use energy to stop you playing - no. Is it far better than than other match 3 games - absolutely It's really 2 very different match 3 games - missions and crafting. Progress in 1 leads to progress in the other.
It took me a while to realise that crafting is so important to progress. Even bad crafting advances research and can be sold to improve your base.
