Ego In A Coma (自我、状態、昏睡。), developed and published by KoS Studios, is a deeply unconventional indie title that feels more like an abstract psychological experiment than a traditional action game. On the surface, it presents itself as a side-scrolling combat experience with platforming elements, but that framework quickly gives way to something far more chaotic and introspective. The game plunges players into a surreal coma-induced world where identity, perception, and emotion blur together, creating an experience that is as disorienting as it is intriguing. The narrative centers around a character referred to as the “One of Insomnia,” who descends into a coma after consuming a powerful sleeping pill. I'm sure this game has some deep meaning to it but it's probably going way over my head. The pixel art is... psychedelic at times. It makes sense since this is all a dream to our main character but it was to much for me at times. The actual drawn art however was really good though so that was nice when i saw it. The combat is a 2D hack and slash that was serviceable but during boss fights it was... well most of the time I didn't move and just kept attacking constantly. At times the animation would stall with the big sword and I'd take hits I could have dodged other wise. I didn't hate this game but I didn't enjoy it either. 5/10
Other then that noise from that stage with the 3 doors this wasnt bad. theres 2 endings. so either yes for all or no for all.
Visuals do not save this game from its absolutely dookie butt combat. My god.
