About the Development
Eight is the product of a single month of development, by two developers. The aim of this, and other Katelyst projects, is to learn and improve upon our development methodology. The game was built using Unreal Engine 4, The Horror Engine, and the Classical Mansion Asset Pack.
We aim to gather as much feedback from players as we can and pivot our projects according to what our players want.
This product has been made within one month and serves as an experiment of our work methodology, and will not be updated after release.

This is simply put a bad game. I can't remember the last time actively playing a game managed to put me to sleep while trying to understand what I was doing wrong. I can not remember the last time I had to rely on user reviews to tell me something about the controls themselves the games do not. I can not remember the last time I went from "can't see ♥♥♥♥ it's too dark" to a flashlight brighter then the sun and literally whiting out the screen. I can not remember the last time I played a PC game with absolutely NO settings, be it to remap controls or lower graphical settings for better performance. I can not remember the last time I played a game on anything without any instructions available, even just a screen showing the buttons you will use to play. I can not remember the last time I played a game where a flickering light felt like the game was breaking under my PC. And I absolutely can not remember the last time a game this bad had an asking price. Avoid this game.2 found this helpful
no jumpscares, low light, find keys type shii
I appreciate what the devs wanted, but holy cow this game is just....it's just bad. Extremely slow, laggy controls, brings my 3070 to its knees, completely awful puzzles and glitchy mechanics with no explanations. I'd even be more forgiving if they were to ever update and fix anything. Don't buy this at all.
I like the look of this game but I am struggling to unlock the doors I have gone into my inventory and it still won’t unlock I don’t know if this is the game being laggy and faulty
Logic will tell you, if you found a key to the second floor, there is something to find on that level. From that point, it gets interesting. But then it's over shortly after. It's a shame. There's so much potential for a story here. They barely scratched the surface and left too many unanswered questions. Overall, it's not too bad.
Pretty bad when 90% of the dislikes are because it's very unclear how to use a key to open a door. It's right mouse btw.
