It was pretty short but really fun. It was a different take on these anomaly games. I think that helps Hanger 8 stand out on it's own.
I kept waiting to get scared… it never happened. That said, I didn’t hate it either. HANGAR 8 does the anomaly loop thing well enough — walk, observe, second guess yourself, repeat. It’s clean, it works, it just never really escalates. Feels like a solid foundation that just needed a bit more to stand out. Still, for a solo dev’s first game? Fair play.
Pretty good. I like it overall. My only really complaint is that it wasn't immediately obvious to me which way to go. There's a reason it's usually spelled out as a wall sign in this genre. Between that and the giant hangar sign with an arrow initially making me think that I was supposed to go that way, it was a bit confusing. Figured out the intention pretty quick though. Not sure how I feel about the game only knocking you back one level on failure. It makes it easier but also deprives you of a chance to re-examine the base level. On the other hand, only being knocked back one level means mistakes aren't a big deal so you don't really need to review the base level. Edit: Sometimes it does kick you back to the start, but the criteria for that versus going back a single level is incredibly opaque to me. Dev, if you read this, it would be much better to explicitly state the rules.
Alright anomaly game to scratch the itch. A bit of replayability and plenty of anomalies to find.
Good game! was pretty fun and quick, and I actually got scared with some of the anomalies. looking forward to future games by this dev.
Fun game, played with friends on discord for a few hours. The anomalies were pretty fun to find, and a couple even got a good jumpscare in. Well wroth the asking price, we'll be playing this again to find more of the anomalies
