Do not be deterred by the first half hour, there is a lot more to the game than is on the surface. While I am barely scratching the surface of the game I wanted to write a review to recommend this game to others. So far it is a charming rpg with immediately love-able characters and battle mechanics. The world is beautifully crafted and vibrant. My favorite detail is seeing the characters react during battle. I can see this being one of my favorite RpgMaker games on steam.4 found this helpful
Ekorella vol. 1 is a fantastic start to an RPG that left me immediately fiending for more. The story is dark and intriguing and it kind of reminded me of OMORI in the way it delivers its horror. It definitely left me excited to find out where the story is heading. The turn based combat is what you would expect from an RPG but where Ekorella really shines is in the art direction. I loved the animations for the moves and how the character's expressions changed in the portraits during battle. It really gives the main cast personality and I found myself invested in them as individuals. The enemies are delightfully weird and some are actually creepy. Horror RPGs are a dime a dozen and I think Ekorella is worth your time.3 found this helpful
This is a gem of a game. The art and music are lovely, and the darker themes are very interesting, I truly want to see more of this game, I really loved it1 found this helpful
A fantastic RPG all around, with my only complaint being the short duration! I eagerly await chapter 2 and beyond of this project!1 found this helpful
Pros: - Very well written - Animations are amazing - Hilarious - Nice OST - Very good value Cons: - Short I'm surprised by how good the story is. Cuteness and darkness walk side-by-side in this 100% original plot with a deep worldbuilding. If you are into classic RPGs and don't mind them being a bit short then you have to give this game a try. I'm hoping for Vol 2 to come out ASAP.1 found this helpful
