[b]Entity Researchers[/b] is what you would get if you mixed Diablo, Earthbound & Pokemon into a cauldron, sprinkled in some crack and left it to simmer for several years (in a good way of course). Being a self described [b]'Dark Sci-Fi RPG'[/b], the game nails its atmosphere, visuals & music to an extent few other indie games ever achieve. While there are some missteps along the way (notably the amount of grinding & glitches), I would personally say the positives far outweigh the negatives for this extremely unique experience which has led me to recommend it in my review. If you're looking for a unique and challenging old school survival game, don't read any further. Just get the demo, play it, and form your own conclusion. I highly, highly recommend this title in spite of it's repetitive/grindy nature. Entity Researchers takes place in a world very similar to SMT, the SCP Foundation, and Gantz. People pilot bio-mechanical beings from another dimension that has merged with ours, in an event that wiped out the vast majority of humanity. You are one of these pilots charged with beating back the hordes of entities. There is also a permadeath mode, and as of this writing I believe I am still 8th place in the permadeath category. It's a slow, difficult grind that involves killing entities for their loot and experience. Killing an entity not only levels up your ERX Unit, (The thing you're piloting) but also improves your resistance to the element of the entity you've killed. If you kill the right types of entities ahead of time, you can avoid mistakes down the road as the difficulty ramps up. (Scanning entities for the first time grants free ability points. I'm really enjoying the game so far. Don't really understand what negative reviews were expecting from the game but classic dungeon crawler mixed with earthbound and kinda smt is really interesting. I'd say get it if you have 9.99 and want something unique and fun
