About Eon of Life

Eon of Life is a game in which you guide the evolution of a creature for as many million years as you can survive! You start as a small fish eating plancton, but as you evolve you can become a fearsome predator, arrive on land or even fly! Find food, avoid predators, watch for a mate, and evolve selecting new parts and mutations for your creature, gaining new skills and becoming stronger. Each time you evolve, millions of years pass and the world changes with you, with other species also evolving and becoming new rivals (or prey), new plants, and new dangers. With roguelite elements, if you advance enough once you become extinct you can start from a later age with a personalized creature!

Probably the best 1.99 impulse meme buy I've made. Rough around the edges, but completely expected from something so affordable! Good: science-y, kind of. Puzzle-y, kind of. Roguelite-ish. Very quick gameplay loop, learning from mistakes feels productive! Stuff to unlock. Seeing random creatures around is amusing. Not so good: sometimes positioning is very hard to read in game. Not a lot of animations. UI/UX is about what you would expect from a short, simple game like this with bugs and quirks abound.

I like it but there are some issues like meat not dropping after a kill and climbing on nothing, ending up floating in the sky.

A fun little game about evolution! If you like animals you will enjoy the variety you can create and encounter in the runs. Can be a bit rough about the edges, but for the price is worth a shot!

Well worth the low price. It's a bit janky at times, but it was honestly super cool trying to evolve to be one of the best species on the planet. Starting out is rough but once you get into a rhythm, you can be near unstoppable.

Alright, buckle up cause this is going to be a long one cause I love evolution sims. I'm absolutely in love with the core idea behind this game, even if it is very rough around the edges. So, let's start with the negatives. The controls are very clunky and take a lot of getting used to. All inputs seem to have some sort of delay to them and sometimes don't register, and it's highly un-ergonomic and not possible to remap. The AI is terrible and the combat is just holding down a button and hoping you deal more damage than your enemy. A lot of the deaths feel unfair because you just get cornered by multiple animals at once which are faster than you and the overall balancing is not good. Hitboxes are clunky, and there are a ton of visual bugs. I also feel like a big portion of my time spent in this game was just either waiting for the transitions or loading screens or trying to find an animal of the same species as me to progress. HOWEVER... At its core, it's a great game, and the idea is amazing. It adds such a nice interactive aspect to something that has already been done a lot of times, evolution simulators. Not only do you yourself evolve, but all animals you see in game evolv…
