It's like this old programmer joke: A tester walks into a bar. Orders a beer, orders 5 beers, orders -1 beers, orders infinite beers, orders RANDOM_STRING beers. Everything's fine, the bar opens to customers. A customer walks in, orders bourbon, and the entire bar goes up in flames. Does this make sense? Cuz that's kinda what this game is like. I had a pretty engaging time. Not sure if I can call it "fun", though; Actually, scratch that. It was fun in a weird way. Just like reading a Junji Ito manga is fun. Just like staying up till 2 AM to fix that one damn issue is fun. Just like cutting through the bushes because your troop leader decided that this is the right way, changed his mind, but you're already too far gone so might as well go all the way is fun. [h2] A wonderful game with original puzzles and a pleasant retro glitch aesthetic [/h2] Very much in the spirit of That Level Again, Test Test Test, and Pony Island. If you liked any of those, you'll definitely enjoy this one too. Sometimes the game was frustrating, but in a fun way that drove the progression. I liked a couple of moments when frustrated key spam gave me a well-integrated hint and I finally understood what to do. And then there's the cryptic digital manipulator that guides you through the narrative — what could be better? [b] 10/10 AWESOME evening gaming experience [/b]

Mesmerizing game, a storm of visual glitches destroying the colorful pixel art, while distorted music makes it all even more demented and horrific. You feel trapped in a chaotic system with no way to progress. This game really puts your brain and dexterity to the test. The solutions to the puzzles always made me think "how didn't I think of it earlier?" which is exactly what you want from a puzzle game. I appreciate that you never do the same thing twice. All kinds of mazes, bosses if we can call them that, even exploration sections in abstract landscapes made of numbers and letters. Just describing everything that happens in this game would be exhausting. And the final sections are simply insane. The gimmick is that message prompts don't let you enter the menus, or even quit the game. (You can actually quit by using the Steam commands. In fact the game teases you if you do it too often.) It's more than a gimmick though, and you learn the real reasons in a pretty clever plot twist. There are interesting themes about AI or psychology in general, albeit with a humorous tone. This game gets my heartful recommendation. 9/10

One of the smartest and funniest games I've played this year. It's just a bit short (2 hours or so) but I'll gladly replay it after giving myself a bit of time to forget the solutions. ** spoilers ** I love how the game has a tantrum when you beat him, only to take his revenge even harder. You always assume things have gotten back to normal, until you realize he's simply hiding somewhere to trick you. The dialogues are overall very well written. And the puzzles are varied and engaging. That's a recommendation from me. A very pleasant surprise.

Error Loop is a 2D puzzle game. You play as a rogue user trapped inside this "program" where a malicious (and omnipotent) entity doesn't want you to progress. With only 4 directions and a 'action' button you'll need to think outside the box and solve the various puzzles and obstacles it throws at you if you want to escape. PRESENTATION Similar to Pony Island, this game is presented as a retro, pixel arcade styled game with muted colors and scanlines to match. At first the designs are simple and easy to comprehend but as you progress further and further the complexity begins to increase. At first it's basic geomtry against solid colors but eventually you'll be hit with a sea of 1s and 0s, rapidly flashing colors and the soundtrack begins to get more and more intense, all the while mainting that balance of "something isn't right" vibe. GAMEPLAY As stated above, your only controls are the 4 directions and an 'action' button that changes depending on where you're up to. Puzzles start off simple enough, needing to find clues and workarounds against the entity but near the end will begin testing your reflexes, memory and multitasking skills.
