Abandonware. Unplayable. The single player conquest kicks you from tutorial because connection was lost. The worst experience possible. It was never good RTS, it was only ok RTS. It is alright to skip this one.5 found this helpful
This game crashes, quite a lot. It also messes with the dimensions of every other window you may have open, and may crash a few of those. My workstation can play pretty much anything on ultra settings, this game isn't one of them. I like the company, been killing some Xenomorphs lately from another one of their titles, and that game plays beautifully. Going to be a slow grind to get those achievements...1 found this helpful
Etherium is a science-fiction real-time strategy game developed by Tindalos Interactive and published by Focus Home Interactive that combines large-scale warfare, territorial expansion, and tactical combat inside a futuristic conflict built around a powerful resource capable of changing the balance of power across the galaxy. Rather than focusing entirely on battlefield encounters alone, the game attempts to create a broader military experience where strategic planning outside combat carries just as much importance as decisions made during active engagements. The setting takes place in a distant future where multiple factions wage war over Etherium, a rare and valuable substance that fuels technological progress and military dominance. Control over this resource determines political influence, survival, and expansion opportunities, creating a universe driven by competition and constant conflict. Players enter this struggle as commanders responsible not only for leading armies but also managing larger strategic priorities that influence long-term success. Unlike traditional strategy games that focus exclusively on isolated matches, Etherium introduces a larger conquest structure w…
Tindalos Interactive and Focus Entertainment, fix the game crash at the end of a match. Please don't embarrass yourself. You need to have at least a shred of self-respect.
Etherium has some genuinely clever ideas for an RTS — the zone-based control structure instead of traditional base building keeps the focus on combat, and the dynamic weather events like blizzards freezing rivers or volcanic eruptions forcing retreats add a layer of strategy you rarely see in the genre. The three factions each have their own flavor, and the conquest mode with its meta-layer of fleet management and political cards gave me plenty to sink into. But the elephant in the room is the constant crashing, especially after completing ground battles, which turns every hard-fought victory into a coin flip on whether your progress actually saves — I lost multiple long matches to this bug. Disabling anti-aliasing and adding -force-d3d9 to the launch options helped somewhat, and there's a community mod on Nexus that patches things further, but the fact that players have to hunt down workarounds for a game the devs abandoned is a real shame. The multiplayer is essentially a ghost town at this point, which hurts a game clearly built around it. If you snag it on a deep sale and are willing to tinker with the fixes, there's a genuinely interesting RTS underneath — but I can't broadly …
