About EX LIFE

EX_LIFE (EX_WIFE) is a futuristic puzzle game set in a house controlled by an A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) that is calibrated with the personality of Brenda, the protagonist's ex wife. In the Game, the progress of the story depends on the logical reasoning of the player and the ability to perceive and solve adverse problems that occur during the gameplay. There is focus on interaction between the main character and the A.I. from Enzo's house, creating interesting, fun, and sometimes intriguing situations, in which the player will either love or hate Brenda.

The game universe is much bigger than its concept, which takes place inside a house with super advanced artificial intelligence, however the whole game world can explain why things happen and how they happen, and it's up to the player to gather the pieces of this puzzle.

The concept for this game is amazing. I can only imagine being in the situation were your AI has the personality of your Ex. With that said, the game lacked a lot. It does have English subtitles, but the voice overs are not and can not be turned down to 0% volume (this makes it difficult to read the lines for a streamer). The translation is a bit off as well. I wish I had been able to put some more time in to see how the story played out more, but it was a difficult game to stream because of the audio voice overs. Def had potential, but just not a good fit for streamers in my opinion

I got to act 3, I did keep running on the stairs. I think it basically killed my chance at finishing the act which could both be a good thing or a bad thing? As far as I know I had to
Activate an emotional lock?
but it was never clear to me how to progress towards that objective (or even if that was the objective?). Perhaps that's because I didn't read enough of the text in game (i.e. books in the library), I genuinely don't know. I also don't understand Portuguese and used subtitles. There were some mistakes I noticed with the subtitles such as typos. As well as this certain scenes didn't show any subtitles at all. Like when (I assume) everything in the house was explained - water, food, etc. As well as at the end of scenes. I personally found the start of the game a bit boring and to be a tad illogical. As well as this I found the hangover at the start of the game disorientating and searched as much as I could before finding out the
Mirror in the bathroom was actually a fancy cupboard with the mirror lifting up
however it took me a while as it seemed unnoticeable to me and I don't recall anything hinting it. Perhaps for Portuguese p…

Really like the idea of this game so bought it. was confused before the game even started as nothing was in English, but thought fine (Cant always be in English when you first put a game on now days), but then there was no clear objective. Controls are clunky and AI voice is not English even when Subtitles are. Also subtitles are wrong and you have to work out what they mean for yourself. This was my first escape room game and was very disappointed. Also would really like it to be fully control supported but now i'm just being picky. I like this games premise enough that i will keep an eye on it and try again in the future, but right now i can not recommend this game.

Not recommended. This might be interesting if you have a lot of patience and are willing to get past all the rough edges. It has good graphics and voice acting (although not in English). The premise has potential to be something worth exploring further, but the controls, fuzzy vision, and lack of intuitive design makes this more an exercise in frustration.
