About Extortion

You're a skilled computer engineer, but your darkest secret has fallen into the wrong hands. Someone is blackmailing you, forcing you into a high-stakes game of hacking and espionage. Your task? Break into servers, steal sensitive data, and fulfill their demands. But the question lingers—will you carry out their missions, or will you track them down and seek revenge?

In this immersive, interactive story, you take on the role of a computer engineer working through a command-line interface. You have access to a wide range of hacking commands and can infiltrate increasingly secure servers. As you progress, the risks and pressure grow greater.
  • Hack and Connect: Use your tools to penetrate firewalls, exploit weaknesses, and outwit defense systems.
  • Download and Manipulate: Secure the files you need, but beware—every move you make is being watched.
  • Adapt and Evolve: Modify your tactics as new challenges arise, from firewalls to counter-hacking attempts. Each success brings you closer to either freedom or further entanglement.
One way to find out: Dive into the gripping world of Extortion and choose your path.

The game process is too short. It's over in just one hour.

Great practice and bloody immersive. I've always been a fan of hacker movies and books and this game can make you feel in their shoes through the monotonous typing of the IP addresses but also the thrill of being fast enough to scan a server and crack a password before a firewall hits you. It's a niche admittedly and some lore would be nice like a wiki explaining how the exploits work just for fun (maybe that exists when you finish the game), and as a long time Linux user it would be cool to see a higher difficulty such as limited time on a server or you lose so now you have to bring in some shell scripting aliases etc. Lots of potential here and can definitely recommend for the price!

Love the concept but I can't seem to hack [email protected]... I notice in the screen shots that the user also had a few failed attempts... Am I supposed to keep trying to passwordBruteForce till it cracks..? Always connection failed after many attempts and reloading... I can't be this dumb... Can anyone advise me as to wot I may be doing wrong..? Fanx in advance. Peace Out.

Nice little game if doing stuff in unix CLI sounds like a fun pasttime to you, kind of like another similar game - Hacknet. Quite short though, only about an hour to get all achievements.

Neat game. Don't expect a long game, especially if you're familiar with a terminal.
