Players criticize Extreme Racing/Neon Microlife as a low-effort template game with minimal testing, featuring poor car handling that conflicts with circular track designs, repetitive music and environments, and questionable pricing compared to better alternatives. The game is described as bundle trash with little value, made with no professional development effort beyond copying existing assets and templates, raising concerns about why it costs as much as established racing games.
Extreme Racing/Neon Microlife is a "template flip", that is to say, it's a "game" that has been produced by using a game construction kit template/tutorial, and changing a few things. In this case it was a game construction kit/template for doing a simple 2D top down arcade "racing" game. At least in this case the "developer" was honest enough to give credit for the game assets they ripped off from other people. Usually the "developers" who churn out these kinds of things pretend the art assets are theirs. This is deplorably low quality bundle trash. No professional effort was made in terms of game development, copying a template/using a game construction kit requires no talent, and unsurprisingly produces products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. It's almost as bad as an outright asset flip. This is nothing but a lazy, greedy cash grab and should be avoided. I was going to cut the developer a bit of slack because at least they admitted they ripped off someone else's art assets, but then I saw the $10 USD price tag. What a joke. the developper clearly never tested his game. Click on the "inforamtion" button on the menu and you will undertstand the quality of the game. The same music keeps playing. The environment are always the same. The first car is ♥♥♥♥ so you can't turn.. HOWEVER the first circuit is litterally a round... so it's really annoying. Barro is another game which costs 0.39 on sale. It is funny. This game isn't. So why does it cost that much ?3 found this helpful
