What Steam players say

✦ AI summary

Players praise this classic flight sim for holding up well as a fun middle-ground between arcade and realistic gameplay, with nostalgic memories of its strong community and compelling gameplay—particularly with a HOTAS setup. However, the game requires workarounds like dgvoodoo2 and disabling fullscreen optimizations to run properly on modern systems, and players note that a beta update with modern resolution support exists but wasn't included in the Steam version.

Game is still great, but you need to do a couple of things, any AI can direct you whats necessary. It's simple. Just download dgvodoo (I use 2.86.4) control panel and tweak a few settings. (some settings might or not work depends on your hardware – I've tested on a mid budget and a high-end, worked in both) Go on L3.exe in the directory and disable fullscreen optimizations. You're all set. Good gaming.

A very nice 'simcade' tha works quite well with modern systems. Just get dgvoodoo2 to make sure the game looks great. A beta update from the developers has support for modern resolutions, not sure why it was not included with steams version. But its great fun, we dont get this middle-ground between realism and arcade anymore.

We're gonna play one song and one song only. I may have my nostalgia goggles on but this is still a lot of fun with a HOTAS when I used to play with a keyboard.

I was one of the co founders of GodzofFire Clan back in the day. We kept begging Novaworld to place our squad on their f22 Squad list on their website. Before finally abandoning the game they did us this favor! It was the hype went it came out. We used an old audio software called RogerWilco to communicate! There were actual air force pilots playing this game back in the day advising us how to fly and techniques to use while piloting... Those were the days! Was a great game back then and the community were great! Note: I remember there used to be this file that you can edit that would change the colors of the F22 Jet fighter!
