Fall Of The Son is a roguelike deckbuilder. Assemble powerful strategies to battle through hordes of enemies - with 4 playable characters and over 200 unique cards at your disposal. Do you have the grit and determination to make it to the end and face off against The Son?
Classes:
Sequence your cards to optimise your damage output. Fall Of The Son features a number of stats and status effects that will influence the course of battle!
Improve after every room cleared. Choose cards to make your deck stronger, and utilise gold in shops to purchase cards and powerful artifacts.
Tactically play out each combat. Some battles may present overwhelming odds - focus your efforts to turn the tide in your favour.
Roguelike:
Features a random map and enemy selection during each run. This will consist of battles, rest points, shops and random events. Your progress is lost upon death.
Deckbuilder:
Select a new card to add to your deck at the end of each combat. Gain access to additional cards and strategies during random events.

It tries to mimic StS a bit too much without adding any new twists to the formula that has been replicated many times. In fact, some of the cards and enemies are a bit too close to the cards in StS. That being said, the wizard class was much more interesting to play, as it has a completely new resource and cards that demand it. The monk class tries to do something unique too, but I found the concept to simple to demand interesting decisions from the player. I wished more classes were as original as the Wizard to help the game stand out more. Another issue is that the game is a roguelike, but there are too few enemy types and interesting relics for it to feel different each time. This could be because of the EA access or due to the smaller scope that comes with the very decent price tag. Unfortunately, roguelikes need content for them to work and the variety simply isn't there - yet. Despite the fact that I've only managed to beat the game once (and when I had the cards upgraded), this is a fun game - the different characters each have distinct characteristics, and there's lots of creative ways to build decks (even if I am largely unsuccessful at this!) Quirky art design and music that sticks in your head!1 found this helpful

This game is great fun, tonnes of replayability and lots of content. Really great to see the game develop throughout early access and the developer has been very active. Haven't really noticed any bugs and I've finished the game a few times now. Well worth a play!
