About Fay's Factory

Magical industrial revolution is here! Your old job? Obsolete. Time to update the resume, buddy. What’s your past? Looks? Skills? And most importantly, how much are you hoping to make at the company?

Pick and choose departments and engines, each ready to produce its own blend of magic. Go deeper and calibrate every detail to maximize the factory’s potential. Keep the workers happy or productive, but don’t forget — the market cap must go up.

Your sorceress demands the best your factory has to offer! Mass-produce incantations to fight in turn-based duels. Each turn, the fates will deal you a hand of magical elements. Find the most effective way to use them and build out a perfect spell.

The sorcery has just been invented. Everyone, from farmers and workers, to kings and men of means, has a lot to say about this. How will you impact their lives? Use blunt magical force, find unorthodox solutions, or argue with everyone to the death, in an attempt to make sense of the changing world.

Between your adventures, return to the corporate town, decorate your house, kick back beside the fireplace of the local tavern, and recount your feats to anyone who will listen. After all, don't we all deserve some recognition for our hard work?

Early Access Note
Fay’s Factory is my handcrafted, story-based game, with no procedural generation. The game is in Early Access, and the story and a few features are incomplete. At this point, you can get 3-5 hours of adventuring out of it. If you still decide to support the development with your money and feedback, I will be forever grateful. But please, don’t hesitate to wait until the release version — it will be the best one yet.

The story and audiovisuals give it an ethereal quality like Spellcaster University. One that is charming, but not enough to alleviate the superficial feel of auto-battler combat. Lite deckbuilding used in factory management provides a fair basis for strategy, while house decorating and food making mini-games counter the heavy dialogue of its storytelling experience. It remains unclear how choosing certain socio-economic options will impact gameplay. More content is needed and everything must be scaled up. A quite unique combat system and very enjoyable writing, although could have done with a little bit more tutorial on how the factory works exactly. Overall I'm very keen to see it get polished up, it looks like it has a lot of potential!

EDIT 2: Creator is updating, just not frequently. Small team (maybe one guy?) so that's understandable. EDIT: It's been 6 months since launch and this review. The dev promised some kind of update "in a month" and it's been 5 months since then. It's been 4 months since they last posted on their official discord. I am not entirely sure they are still working on it. As previously mentioned: The game is not worth 15$ in its current state. Original review: Early Access Review. As it stands *right now*: The game has some excellent design and writing, but content-wise it is barely more than a demo. So while showing a lot of promise, it really isn't worth the $15 asking price right now. So I'm recommending it *for now* to support a promising game by a small indie developer. If it doesn't get significant content updates, I'll have to change that.

Very promising. Had a lot of fun with it and I can't wait for new update for more content. Combat is interesting but simple at the moment. New factory modules and spells will definitely increase the complexity.

Fay's Factory is a gem. An RPG at heart, packed full of meaningful choice & consequence. Features top shelf low poly art, unique setting pivotal to the story, and an unusual & innovative combat system. Fay's Factory is bloody excellent. Honestly, the game's trailer does it no justice at all. It's an RPG with a surprising level of choice & consequence, and a bizarre but well-written and engaging socio-political story set during a unique magic/industrial revolution.
