About FISH FEAR ME
FISH FEAR ME is a top-down Vampire Survivors-style roguelite where you fish up your enemies to fight, defeat, and sell them! Catch fish, uncover secrets, and hunt bounties to earn cash and forbidden knowledge, and use those resources to upgrade your boat, unlock new weapons and tools, and gain new abilities. Each region has new fish to catch, new bounties to fulfill, and new terrors of the deep. From the placid waters of Nightmare Lake to the subterranean wastes of the Shadow Sea, monsters lurk beneath the deep... Are you able to bring home the biggest catch? You are being watched. The Leviathan, a cosmic force of death, will try to consume you after seven days on the water. At first, you won't be able to stop it; you're a mere mortal, and it's an infinite eldritch being. However, you have an advantage: a billion-dollar cosmic debt which returns you from the dead. With each new run, you grow stronger. The Leviathan is hunting you. Hunt it back. The weapons at your disposal are as varied and chaotic as the fish you're fighting. Recruit fish into your skeleton army after thwacking them with a giant anchor. Ram into sea monsters head-on, then heal up using a magic lure. As you catch stronger and stronger fish that want to eat you, only smart build-crafting can keep you alive.Eventually you'll make a mistake. You'll get too greedy, bring too many fish up at once, and get swarmed and destroyed. With each new run, you'll learn a little more, unlock more upgrades for the future, and get closer to your true goal: slay the Leviathan, pay off your cosmic debt, and become the greatest battle-fisherman of all time.

Unfortunately I can't recommend Fish Fear Me. I absolutely loved Snake Farm and hoped for a similar experience. What made Snake Farm great was that it was tough, but fair. Fish Fear Me is tough, and unfair. First off, the boat is tough to control. Having done a bit of real world sailing, this is entirely accurate. However, for a game where accuracy and avoidance against fast moving enemies is of paramount importance, It is absolutely soul destroying. Second. The fish you catch are not auto collected. Which is a super added pain on a boat that is tough to control when you have to go back and collect. Especially when you choose a boat for speed, which is absolutely needed to outrun a lot of the fish, but has an insane and slow turning circle. And if you've chummed up more fish than you can handle, you aren't going back, you're just running. And almost any amount of fish is more fish than you can handle... Because 3. Each type of chum will bring up more than one type of fish. All of which need one of the different weapons to be most effective against. Which means that whatever weapon you start with, it will not be effective against at least one set of early fish. And you can't upgr…2 found this helpful
As much as I love fishing, this one just didn't do it. The controls are frustrating, the "weapons" don't scale fast enough as the days go by, and basically the first 10 runs you make a minimal dent in your debt. Quite a disappointment.
It's sort of the Hades of fishing games
I enjoy silly fishing games, I love the conceit behind this, but I found it just too awkward to control. It just wasn't much fun.
This is Vampire Survivors with Lovecraftian fishing and I love it. It's a bit grindy, but figuring out how each of the areas work is a lot of fun and it's fun figuring out your favorite build. Also, that theme song is going to be in your head for the rest of your life.
This is one of the greater games I've played. I like the simple story and all of the different fish. Also, the fact that this game is the successor to SNAKE FARM is great because I loved that game too. The secret fish that you can get with certain lures is cool as well and the gameplay loop is also very satisfying. Currently, I have played for four hours and haven't gotten bored at all while playing. I hope to see more from this creator and if you're reading this, play the game. It's amazing.
