I’m begging you, stay away from this game! It’s definitely one of the worst ones I’ve ever played in my life! How could anyone come up with such a horrible game that goes against everything that makes platformers great!? This is beyond absurd and bad! Fist Slash: Of Ultimate Fury claims that it is inspired by Ninja Gaiden, but it mostly plays like Vice: Project Doom. Don’t get me wrong, though. Vice: Project Doom is actually a great game, whereas this one comes nowhere near close to being good, let alone great. The first problem arises from the inability to rebind the joystick to the d-pad in-game; however, Steam’s controller configuration or JoyToKey can alleviate this issue. Horrendous hitboxes, along with disastrous enemy placement and a very questionable level design made worse by a lack of playtesting? You guessed it, there is no fix for those! It’s not the 80s anymore, and the people have been vocal about the excessive dependency of the trial-and-error technique in platformers many, many times, since it makes them insufferable instead of fun. How could you expect me to memorize 10 long screens for each level and get through them with minimal scars? I was crazy enough to d…4 found this helpful

Quite Decent 8-bit sidescroller for how little you pay. On a technicall level it is terrible: no controller config, no volume settings, no nothing except a music player and ingame achievemet viewer, and also on gamepad movement defaults to the control stick. Thank god steam input is a thing now so you can fix this. Once you actually get to the game it is pretty nice. Controls are relatively tight, you have a close range attack that can be upgraded to shoot a projectile, you can hang on wall and you get acces to a bunch of subweapons, plus the music is nice. The cutscenes are quite ugly though, with a very creepy uncanny look to it, and the music during this is horrible. The difficulty kind of skyrockets at the final stage, so you will be stuck there fo a while. Funnily enough, the final boss is way easier than the stage itself. Overall it decent for what you pay and the lenght is generous plus extended by the challenge. Get it on a sale.
A ninja gaiden clone that's more rough than diamond. whoever made this game doesn't know enemy behaviour, spawn points, hitboxes, jump height and grap distance, achievement unlocks chained into higher difficulty and lastly replenishable platforms. Also whoever planned level 5-5, ♥♥♥♥ you. literally spend 8 minutes, that jump is not pixel perfect, it's rng as well.
Fist Slash: Of Ultimate Fury, developed by Sinclair Strange and published by Rising Star Games, is a love letter to the golden age of arcade platformers—a frantic, pixelated celebration of speed, precision, and difficulty. It takes players back to a time when games were simple in design but merciless in execution, demanding both skill and patience to conquer. The story is minimal but suitably dramatic for its retro inspirations: you play as the warrior Fist Slash, who must travel through six worlds and recover five mystical mirror shards stolen by the evil Dr. X. The plot serves only as a backdrop for the relentless gameplay that unfolds across dozens of tightly designed levels, each teeming with hazards, enemies, and boss battles that test timing and reflex above all else. The game’s structure is instantly familiar to fans of 8-bit and 16-bit platformers. Each world consists of ten stages, and each stage introduces a series of escalating challenges built around jumping, slashing, and quick pattern recognition. The pacing is brisk, encouraging players to keep moving while punishing hesitation with respawns and retries. Every death becomes a lesson in precision and rhythm as you le…
