Foreign Orc is praised as a fun and effective educational tool for learning vocabulary in French, Spanish, and Russian through an engaging whack-a-mole style gameplay that's more enjoyable than traditional flashcards. However, players note significant technical issues including bugs that interfere with selecting answers, lack of pronunciation guides, and difficulty with the Cyrillic alphabet that makes Russian particularly challenging without prior language knowledge. Despite its rough execution, the free-to-play nature and solid core concept make it worth trying for those interested in casual
Foreign Orc is overall a fun little game. As a game is mostly of educational purpose, as you get to learn simple, yet common, words and phrases in three (3) different languages (French, Spanish and Russian), while whacking some rogues. There are, however, a few aspects that may be found troublesome to get through. - A few bugs making it harder to choose the correct option, because there are many of them (options) highlighted on their own, for instance. - Russian, especially, may require previous knowledge of the language, because of the lack of familiarity with the Cyrillic alphabet. - No way to learn pronunciation of the words you see written. All of the above make Foreign Orc a simple, yet effective way to gain some knowledge and kill some time, for a free to play game , but, in my opinion, it can be quite useful and has more potential, if you’re already trying to learn one of the aforementioned languages, and are still a beginner.1 found this helpful
the concept is good, the execution is not entirely there yet - but it's free so feel free to try1 found this helpful
Orc smash! I had fun bashing rogues on the head. Great educational game that beats flashcards any day. Brushing up on my Spanish from high school, but then I'm going to try French and Russian. Looking forward to more updates and future games from Montray Studios!1 found this helpful
Too many bugs to really be playable right now.
