Play Time: 27.8hrs Achievements: 22 out of 23 achievements (250 Mana left.. lets see how long it takes me to get this) Date of original review: July 3rd 2026 Rating: 7 1/3 Forest Heroes: is a “tug of war” game where it's about using your character, animal friends, and spells to beat the evil plants. Nothing more ironic then beating a massive tree with a ton of Acorns. The game comes with 56 allies, 237 Artifacts (aka passives that impact your run), 53 Hats to equipment onto your allies, 17 crowns your character can wear. And of course you have skill cards you can obtain and use. They are unique to your character. You'll come across 15 different difficulties, all of which offer a new challenge for you. In your travel of tug of war you'll encounter the plant baddies whom are semi unique and have different abilities that will impact how you summon or create your allies. On your journey you'll chose either the left side for events or the right side for events. This tiny but very impact decision making can make a difference in every run. P.S. This is very much so a keyboard game. QWER, and arrows. Characters you can play: 3 unique characters that have their own unique play style. T…1 found this helpful
Really unbalanced as it is, it is so easy to break the game that there is no difficulty at all. You could put your cat on the keyboard and it would win.1 found this helpful
Cute little roguelike deckbuilder, if you played flash games like the epic war games you'll feel right at home with the gameplay loop.1 found this helpful
I enjoy playing this game on my steam deck winding down in bed quite a bit. Not a big fan of deck builders but this one is very enjoyable for me. Something about how simple this roguelike is has pulled me in and Im hooked.
I think the point that its pretty easy to break this game is pretty valid. The best builds typically either center around being able to spam allies through cost reduction effects, or builds that buff your allies significantly, etc. but I don't think that's necessarily bad. It's similar to Battle Cats in a way, where you generate resources to spend on cards to defend your tower, and your units move. You also have your own unit that can move and perform actions through cards that can heal. attack, or buff your minions. There are 3 different classes you can unlock each with a bit more specialization and unique abilities compared to the others, with the first class being an all rounder with character spells that typically buff your allies, deal damage and knockback, or multiply them. The necromancer class is unique in that she produces graves when allies die, and with spells, and these graves can be used to pay off cards or produce allies on the spot rather than wait for them to spawn from your tower. Her spells can also cost her own health to buff allies as well. This class plays better into cards that scale off ally deaths, since the grave minions are quite disposable. The last clas…
