Common complaints include unresponsive and overly broad turning mechanics, confusing initial gameplay, bugs throughout the experience, and a lack of compelling content to justify the asking price, leading most reviewers to recommend against purchasing despite acknowledging its artistic potential.

Foxus was a game I received for free to show off on stream and I did such. My viewers and I, did not feel it's worth it's price however. Foxus suffers from a lot of issues but it also shows hints of good elements.
The Good
Visually this game is (mostly) brilliant! Off the bat we are given simple but nice fox customization. The environmental assets and player character look great together and make the world feel more real. I'm just talking about the basic environment though. The other odd alien characters and houses are a bit out of place. Our foxy boi's animations are fluid and look very close to an actual foxes movements compared to other fox games. I also personally loved the use of chromatic aberration around the screen in almost a very light fisheye effect. Controller gameplay felt perfect. Apparently they just fixed this in the latest patch and it feels like it worked! The story is interesting at parts where the npc's aren't around. I wanted to know what would happen next. Upon sequence breaking the game, which I will talk about later, I might of found another ending to the game? So that was neat. However, as gripping as the game may of been, it falls short on many…

I couldn't handle more than 10 minutes of this game. We're introduced to a rock-character that doens't even fit the style of the low-polygon world.. and we are immediately asked to swim back and fourth between two islands so that his spiteful spouse needs 2 cakes in order to forgive him.. As far as the initial story goes it is lackluster at best and it needs a better first impression. The controls are what kept me from continuing any further. The turning is WAY too broad and is very annoying. I feel like I'm controlling a very large car over a swift fox because of how large the turning radius is. Swimming in the water was extremely slow and the user has no control to dive or go faster either. The maps are very small but lack any kind of iconic landmarks, and overall I could not bear to play this game any longer at its current state. As far as the screenshots go I can see there is some sort of passion to make this a cute story driven game.. But at this moment with its lack of music, inspiring characters, and poor opening.. its very hard to even want to see how long it takes to get to the "heart" of the game.

The controls seem really messed up. The graphics are not bad at all. I actually enjoy them. When starting seems confusing but once you get to understanding it, it isn't too bad. If they fix the controls and update it to be less confusing. I would recommend.
