About Frog Brain
Welcome to Frog Brain, a challenging neural network simulation game. In this world, you’ll take on the role of a neural network designer, using your creativity and logical thinking to build neural networks and solve a series of complex scenario challenges. The core gameplay revolves around a powerful neural network editor, where players can use the following types of nodes to build their network:
- Input Nodes: Read activation signals from the scene, providing the raw data needed by the network.
- Neuron Nodes: Simulate the function of neurons, transmitting and processing signals.
- Output Nodes: Output the processed signals back into the scene to control the task.
- Universal Nodes: Provide various input signals, including network, file, and keyboard inputs, to help you tackle different challenges.

I was hoping to like this, since there are very few games of this "genre". But this game simply isn't put together well. The user interface is often clunky, and the stated objective for each level is far too vague for you to make a neural net the game considers "correct". I gave up on the fourth level, with the stated goal of "light the lamps in sequence". My lamps were certainly lighting up in sequence, but no matter the interpretation of "in sequence" I used, nor the timing of when each lit, the game always considered the test a failure. If this game interested you, I recommend "Bug Brain", which is a free download online (though I think it currently requires VPNing to Australia for some reason). It is the same concept, and despite being very old, it works well and is fun and informative.
