Pretty good so far, a survivors-ish game with added squad mechanics and some meta-progression.

Having played many survivor-style games, I have to say that this is a hard pass - and I have completed the game with all its achievements. The play cycle is ridiculously repetitive with little to no engagement with the player. There is no skill or strategies to play around with. The combos amongst the party are meaningless, individual picks are far stronger. There is extremely limited enemy variance, with no scaling or climbing difficulty over the main time-scope of any given game. The music cuts obnoxiously loudly when hitting esc mid-game - an easy fix, but an odd oversight. This game needs a colossal overhaul of enemy design, map design, and most importantly, actual player interaction with both the 'party' and the map itself. If I wanted a braindead game, i'd have big numbers, flashy effects, or the ability to slaughter thousands of monsters. This provides none, sadly. 3/10 at a kind standing.

Cute Survivor like with neat ideas and a potential for growth. Party management is a unique idea that I think will make for a great experience once its fully realised

It's OK for a first commercial release and it's playable. But it's **mid**, and given how many other games there are in this particular genre that can be had for this price or less, I'd really only suggest getting this if you A: Are not playing on gamepad (movement is NOT analogue if you use a stick, and the GUI *very* frequently breaks and requires mouse control to fix more often than not.) B: You really enjoy the art style, because it looks like it looks and that's what it's going to look like for the entire 8-20 hours you'll be playing. C: You're fine with lacking QoL features and with few updates. According to the Early Access bulletin, the devs intend to exit Early Access sometime soon, and there have been a few updates and refinements since release. But the game is rough, somewhat infuriating, kinda lacking in terms of strategy compared to the typical game in the genre, and it just feels more like a proof of concept than a commercial release. Again, it's playable. And there's definitely worse games that cost more money. But if you've played a lot of swarm survivors and bullet hell games, this is arguably much closer to something like Gauntlet or Robotron than it is to someth…

A really unique take on the Survivor genre! The bigger your party is, the harder it is to defend it. Also, you can keep party members from one session to another, making it a more interesting and diverse. Totally worth checking out!
