Future Knight

What makes Future Knight stand out is how it captures the feel of old-school classics without their clunkiness. No tedious grinding, no bloated weapon trees—just pure, fast-paced action where your own skill and mastering your trusty blaster matter most. Character movement, shot feedback, and enemy attack patterns blend together into an awesome combat flow. Visually, the detailed ink-drawn sprites create an awesome atmosphere that fits the acapella score. An absolute indie surprise.

Awesome achievement in retro action design. Future Knight pairs responsive controls with punchy, high-impact combat. The audio design deserves huge praise: every gunshot, explosion, and hit feels weighty, backed by an ingenious acapella soundtrack that elevates every encounter. The stages constantly throw clever enemy pairings at you that test your mastery without ever feeling unfair. It's rare to see a retro shooter execute its vision with this much polish and originality.

The weapon feedback is phenomenal. You feel every single shot connect.

Gonna be short: I got 2 opinions, and one isn't fair... but who cares. Let's go. *ahem* first one is: [h1] MY MAN STUDIO KOBA HAS DONE IT AGAAAAIN!! WHO OOOOH![/h1] (If you didn't understand it, this is the fan boy opinion.) As for my more rational (but still appreciative) review: game's fun, hilarious, quirky and a little bit too easy (in perfect contrast with the second entry of Studio Koba: Haneda Girl). It's a shame that, while sharing many call back with my favourite gem Narita Boy in its design, Future knight is basically a (appears to) one-off. Still, a great game worth of your time!

Quality over quantity done right. Every room feels handcrafted, every boss battle feels memorable, and the unique vocal soundtrack keeps your energy up the entire time. If you appreciate games that respect your time and test your skills while looking and sounding completely unique, this belongs in your library.
