About 玉言·离光
“Tale of Jade / Li Guang” , the first game we developed, has elements of Roguelite, strategy, and exploration. The game is inspired by works such as "Tsuro", "Carcassonne", "Night of Full Moon" and "Slay the Spire".
We are trying to create a new card game with oriental elements of gameplay.
The inspiration of the story "Tale of Jade/ Li Guang" came from the remains of the Yaoshan altar of the Liangzhu culture in China. There are twelve tombs at the Yaoshan site, and based on this background, we created a story and name 12 ritual rooms by Twelve Branches,
The Twelve Branches are the traditional Chinese concept of timekeeping.
At the same time, in the traditional concept, the Twelve Branches also related to the internal organs.
The two concepts corresponding to the Twelves Branches will influence the development of the plot in the game ......
Ramdom MapEvery time you enter the map, the game will generate the map randomly
In the map, every step you take, you have the chance to trigger a random event
I dont know whether this zone is difficult, i can only help you pray

And even the cards of single element can make combo too

If all the issues will be fixed I could recommend it, but not yet... Not yet... Not worth it on FULL RELEASE. Game went out of Early Access, but still have a lot of issue and needs to be developed further! Positives: - Interesting and Beautiful graphics - Enjoyable Music - Interesting Gameplay Mechanics - Cool Hero Progression System Negatives: - There are bugs when you try to use carts It glitches out - I finished the game in less than 2 hours and it's not like it has a lot of variance for replayability - Low amount of unique cards - You can finish the game with one strong card - Not all the text is translated. Some buttons and names are in Chinese Overall, the most complex and important parts are done very well. The graphics look great, and the gameplay is ok. I think it could be improved, but it has a solid basis. The game has potential, but it still feels like some early access game, not a full release!4 found this helpful
It's $10 and you feel clever when you combo out. Was worth it just to pick the grizzled auntie for the fairy.3 found this helpful
I will be getting a Refund for the following reasons 1. There is a bug in the tutorial that block you, so you are forced to use the Auto-save in order to bypass it. 2. When I try to save my file I press the save button and it doesn't do anything. Not worth the hassle when the gameplay I barely had time to experience is not interesting.2 found this helpful
玉言·离光 is an ambitious indie roguelike deck-builder developed by DawnLight Workshop and published by MedusasGame, and it stands out immediately for its strong cultural identity and willingness to diverge from familiar genre conventions. Rather than drawing from Western fantasy tropes that dominate most card battlers, the game roots its worldbuilding and mechanics in traditional Chinese philosophy, mythology, and archaeological symbolism. From the moment a run begins, the game establishes a contemplative tone, framing the player’s journey as both a strategic challenge and a symbolic exploration of balance, fate, and transformation within a myth-inspired world shaped by ancient ritual and cosmic order. At the heart of 玉言·离光 lies its five-element system, which forms the foundation of both combat and deck construction. Wood, fire, earth, metal, and water are not just thematic labels but deeply intertwined mechanics that generate, suppress, or transform one another. Unlike many deck-builders that lock players into rigid classes, the game allows complete freedom in how these elements are combined, encouraging experimentation and personal expression. This openness makes each run feel high…
I understand nothing of the game play but it seems like it has potential to really suck you in once you do get it. The UI and English experience is a bit lacking, but it's definitely playable. I'll edit this if I get round to playing more
