[h1] Futuristic racer with high speed races and some simple combat. Hit collision is pretty bad. Controls are very basic so let's say they just work. Level design is not the greatest and sometimes feels a bit mediocre. If you're curious you can check it out - it's free. But honestly you gonna be better off getting Redout which is much more compelling option. [/h1]

The puzzles can be more than a little bit esoteric, but the solid gameplay and generally weird vibe makes it an easy recommend to try out, you'll figure out if it's your kind of thing in a few minutes.

This game cannot be played as intended.[/quote] "get REKTorized" is a combat racer game where the players (nobody) battle each other by shooting weapons and racing futuristic hovercars against each other. That's on the assumption that in the future everything is a shiny collection of low poly boxes welded together that somehow fly around. It's noticeable some optimisation went into Unity and a bunch of nice post processing and other visual effects were applied... to garbage low poly models. That's lipstick on a pig right there. What do you do in the game? Nothing, there's no players. In fairness, though, while this isn't winning any awards, I've seen a lot worse on Steam. Hopefully the developer goes on to work as part of a professional development team. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D graphics which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It'…

I had some fun with this title. It has plenty rough edges, and those edges get sharper the further you get into the game. What I liked: - The physics have a playful bounce that keeps you engaged with the terrain. - The tracks don't shy from questionable design choices, leading to a fresh and challenging experience where some titles might play it safe. - The game is unabashed in it's presentation. (The knockout drone will hover above the last place racer and roast them for their performance.) - There is a two-way race mode. What I disliked: - Weapon balance is not a factor. Leading to some frustrating story levels. - Collisions can snag your ship on small objects and other racers. - I could not progress through the tutorial in spite of pressing every key. - Manual saving for time attack times. (I am unsure if the leaderboard functionality functions. My time does not show up on the board.) - In-game controller support doesn't seem to function. (I have yet to try Steam settings to get past this.) Overall, a decent experience, and a free one at the time of this review. Hoping for a chance multiplayer sometime to see how it fares on that end.
