About Downsizing.exe

You're not the villain. You're just doing your job.

DOWNSIZING.EXE puts you in the chair of a corporate cost-cutter with one objective, save the company $300,000. Process employee reviews, approve terminations, and reinvest your savings into a growing suite of automation upgrades that keep the machine running with or without you.

But the machine has teeth.

Risk climbs with every decision you make. The board sends ultimatums with countdown timers and zero tolerance for failure. Employees fight back, filing appeals that force you to weigh cost against consequence. Whistleblowers emerge from the shadows. Legal cases pile up faster than you can settle them. Emergency board meetings demand snap decisions that ripple across your entire operation. The further you push, the more the system pushes back.

Maximize the Workflow

Start small, manually reviewing employees one by one. Reinvest your savings into upgrades that automate, accelerate and amplify your output. By the time you reach full automation, the company runs itself. The question is whether you can survive long enough to get there.

Features:

  • Corporate management with deep upgrade systems and full automation
  • Employee appeals, board ultimatums and emergency board meetings
  • Whistleblower investigations and escalating legal cases
  • Built-in Snake and Minesweeper mini-games
  • Authentic Win98 aesthetic with CRT filter
  • 40+ challenges, 5 restructuring rounds and multiple game modes
  • Auto-save every 15 seconds, your progress is never lost

The Cost of Slacking

When the pressure gets too heavy, the office has its distractions. Built-in Snake and Minesweeper are there for the slow hours, but every second away from the queue is a second the board notices. Distraction is a luxury you can barely afford.

Can you reach the goal without breaking the machine?

Really liked the corporate satire and the funny quotes/storytelling, some of the mechanics are interesting too. Upgrades could use a bit more spice, and at times it actually feels like a boring office job, but that kinda adds to the humor. overall, a fun, darkly comedic grind.

Great game, its a strategic clicker where you dont just click but also manage different variables that can lead to your termination. i really like the style of the game the retro interface is really done well and polished, sure here and there some things can be fixed but there is also a lot of polish and love in this game. i like it, i hope you wil like it to its also really cheap.

After about 3 hours with Downsizing.exe I’d give it a 7.5/10. The corporate satire and dialogue carry a lot of the experience, and the game does a good job making repetitive office work weirdly entertaining. Some of the mechanics are genuinely interesting once you start optimizing things. The upgrades could use a bit more variety, but the boring office-job feeling honestly ends up adding to the humor more than hurting it. Feels like a darkly comedic spreadsheet simulator in the best way possible.

I see the bigger picture. I see good can be. I believe personally some things need to be reworked and rebalanced but the game is completely solid. I personally love games in this old retro type style. Artwork is amazing, some of the attention to details is solid, took me maybe 3-4 games to even realize 100% what I was doing. Solid 7.5/10

I expected a mix of Execute with Faceminer(without the woke) but got a vastly inferior version of both(without the woke).
