I am delighted that i get to re-edit this review after the dev addressed my complaints. It's the dev's first game, but frankly the old-school (in internet terms) indie feeling pleases me especially now that the game loop can be enjoyed more smoothly. I don't think i need to say that this is a typing roguelike where you type a passage under increasing time pressure to complete stages and occasionally visit shops where you can increase the value of each letter you type or buy broader ranging upgrades, but there, i've said it. Also it has neat factoids about ancient glyphs which adds character and personality to the game, and makes it feel like it was made by someone who cares about stuff. The game is chill and engaging, though the chill turns down as the difficulty increases. It succeeds in the all important upgrade-build-shop part where it feels fun to try to estimate which letters appear most often and which upgrades will synergise effectively. I'd love to see more added to this game, it feels ripe with possibilities. really good esp considering this is apparently the dev's first game! i love typing, i love roguelikes, simple but very fun, i've only done one run at the moment but i'm for sure going to lose some time doing more. like the other review as of now i'd love to see more stuff added! possible bugs...? i've unlocked some of the other starting modes but it won't let me select them:( also i was on a really funny run and paused it to adjust some options but when i try to continue the game just crashes. ah well. and i do think that some of the curses do need clearer wording since there's been a few where i'll read it and i'm like wait what's the benefit to this tho why would i pick this.
