This game is HARD, but in a really fun and addicting way! I love that it really challenges you to dissect each level and situation to perfectly figure out just how to keep progressing instead of just button smashing your way through a difficult situation. It's very calculated and deliberate and It's the type of game where you really come away from it a better gamer with a more in depth understanding of your controls and the game's environment. You can tell that the developer really put a lot of heart and thought into every single aspect of this game. Every detail is important! I'm excited to see future projects from this developer and believe that this is just the beginning! And what a great start.

[h1] Overview: [/h1] I will start out by saying that I will be brutally honest here. Glyphs is a fantastic game but you will only get out of it what you put in. Early on, it does feel a bit slow and plain but the further you progress, the more challenging the game gets (obviously), but the at the same time, the level design gets better, the bosses get cooler, and the music gets more fire. I think it is safe to say there is more than meets the eye. I will say, if you really look for it, there is a very interesting story will all kinds of lore woven throughout the game but it is difficult to pick up on until you are quite a ways in. Despite playing mostly linearly, it has tons of secrets woven throughout it to help break up the feeling of a single path forwards. It really blows my mind to think that a single guy managed to make this. The art is a bit of a minimalistic style and the controls are a little awkward at first with how slidey your character is but it is manageable. You also cannot directly influence your jump height (though once you unlock the dash which you will find very early on it gets much more managable). The game also has a giant skill curve. if darksouls was a platformer

This game is FUN! I give it 5 stars! I've played a lot of indie games, but this one takes it to the next level. The game play is really enjoyable. The game itself initially feels basic and then all the sudden you are quickly blown away by incredibly difficult obstacles. The story is well thought out and cohesive (I still have a long way to go to completion, but so far, awesome!). It feels nostalgic and modern all at the same time. Some have criticized the character movements - I disagree. Half the challenge of the game is mastering control and precision. You will be challenged! I've never played anything quite like this. The devs really focused on repetition and mastery of the levels. You will feel accomplished every time you reach a "save" point. The bosses are also great, but be ready for a serious challenge... The coolest thing about this game is the original soundtrack. It's really creative and just might have you dancing in your gaming chair! If you are on the fence, just buy it! It is the most fun you can have at this price. Now get Glyphing, and thank me later!

Sorry to the game devs, I'm sure you guys worked really hard on this, but I'm gonna go in depth on this. This game feels like it has so much potential, but there are movement issues that are so frustrating that it makes it so difficult to defeat even the second boss. Anytime you move left or right your character slides past where you're trying to go, so when you have to get close to an enemy (because the hitbox of your weapon is so small) you end up more often than not running into the enemy you were trying to hit because you have to make tiny adjustments to get close to it, but the sliding makes it impossible. In addition, when you jump your momentum stays the same even if you let go of the direction you were going when you started the jump, so if you have to grapple something but you need to back up in the air or you're too close to where you're swinging from, you're basically screwed because not only do you not have enough time to correct it, but if you do, you still have to hold down the buttons in the direction of the object you are trying to grapple. Also, the grappling rope should not change sizes based on how close you are to an object. It becomes maddening when you try to …
