Goo Deer

After 12 hours of play, I went outside after the store closed around 5am only to get spawn camped by the big bad of the game, killing me in one hit, I lost 12 hours of progress and now the game won't save at all. It's a shame the game decided to go this rogue lite perma death route, cause the core loop of bouncing back and forth between a store management and hunting sim was very engaging. But part way through you start to automate your processes and starting from scratch over something so minor was the biggest out I've had in a game in a long long while. Like you may read in most of the reviews, the hunting isn't the best. All the deer are way too skittish, and run long before you can get a decent shot on them, but eventually you learn how to corral them into a corner of the map where their only escape is through you, which allows you to bag as many deer as your gun can take down. And the store management side is bottle necked in a lot of ways that you can't upgrade out of. But the sense of progress feels good. It's not experience ending, but the game doesn't run great. The foggy setting, the isolated gas station, and the feeling that something is lurking out in the forest create a great sense of tension. There’s a nice contrast between the relatively mundane task of running the gas station and having to venture into the fog to hunt for ingredients. The atmosphere is definitely one of the game’s strongest aspects and fits the concept very well. The gameplay itself is enjoyable as well. I like the combination of managing the gas station, keeping the shelves stocked, crafting different Goo Deer flavours, serving customers, and managing resources and employees. Having to leave the station and venture into the forest to hunt for ingredients adds a nice change of pace and gives the management side of the game a more interesting purpose. The core gameplay loop works well and there’s a solid foundation here to build upon. That said, I would strongly recommend prioritising polishing the existing experience and fixing the more noticeable bugs before focusing on adding more content. I really enjoyed my time with **Goo Deer**. The game is so buggy that the "save and quit" button just deletes your save data. Unacceptable state to launch a game.

I recently played this and love the aspect of a store simulator with hunting and of course it has a spooky twist, love the visuals and the graphics are good too. But what i want to know is what is in these cans of Goo, lol

So far, I will admit it's *kinda* difficult. One thing that need to be improved include the HYPER sensitive hearing/sensing mechanics that the deer have. They start running the moment you can see them, even if they are across the entire map. Another thing would be the spawn rate of the deer. They seem to spawn in clumps, like a herd would, however they also only appear seemingly in minimal locations and en mass, so they are there and then gone seemingly. I am enjoying the game, I enjoy the simulation meets Deer Hunter vibes. I can't enjoy Don Stump enough.
