About Green Revival

You are a young Plant Spirit who is trying to save his ancestral Valley. It is dying from an unknown source of infection, with bugs becoming more dangerous and plants no longer growing. What happened and who will help you fight back? Start the adventure and find out the answers.

The path lays from the safe and familiar garden to the farthest corner of the Valley, where the source of the poison is hiding. Our hero will travel through the forest and mountains. And in the caves Spirit will have to face another danger - pitch black darkness.Spirits don’t have bodies, so they are unable to affect the world around them. The only things they can do are moving and observing. But after long years of living in the Valley spirits learned another trick - possessing plants.
While hiding inside a plant Spirit can shoot seeds to plant new plants or to protect himself from hungry bugs. Each plant shoots differently, for example, ficus shoots poisonous juice and chestnut throws a heavy seed that strikes down anything in it’s way. Each plant can be useful in a different situation!Hungry bugs and exploding batteries - those are the enemies that Spirit will have to face on his way. Each of them has a weakness against a certain type of plant.

Our hero is going on a dangerous journey but he won’t have to be on his own, Old Spirit, his teacher, will help and support him the entire time. From the safety of the garden, of course. Also during his adventure Spirit will meet new unexpected friends, some of which will join and travel with him.

To save endangered plants Spirit will have to collect new seeds while travelling. And, of course, learn how to use the new plants. Old Spirit gathered all the information about Valley’s plant life in a handbook which Spirit will be able to read at any time.

The source of the poison, giant battery monster, won’t be an easy target. To save the Valley Spirit will have to figure out a strategy and use the most effective plants. And his friends will help him!

Cute, but boring and repetitive.

An adorable and very pretty game about restoring a valley through decimating dastardly bugs and toxic batteries with powerful plants and mediocre controls. All of the assets, from plants to bugs to the spirits and spiders are beautifully drawn with soft yet vibrant colours and pleasant textures. Both enemies and the individual plants are very easy to identify. The background music is equally as pleasant to the ears as the art is to the eyes. Unfortunately my one big point of critique is the controls. Firstly the controls explanation sheet is in Russian and untranslated, so I ended up going through the entire game without opening the encyclopaedia and barely knowing what each plant actually does. What could have been done to alleviate this is having a small pop-up of what the plant does when you acquire it. Next the point&click movement controls work far better than WASD as they don’t cause you to get caught on plants nearly as much. Additionally it is easy to accidentally plant or shoot when you meant to do the opposite. Left click could just have been shooting and right click planting instead of having to switch between the two modes. While the game is still very much beatable it …

At least it's short... Aleksei really was slacking off XD The art, the soundtrack, the story and the message are all great, but OMG the gameplay is just atrocious! How can you make such a simple game with such poor unresponsive player controls?...

This game was pleasant to play and had some unique features of placing different plants and then "possess"ing them to use their different actions. This was covered as part of this week's episode of Free2Play Weekly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6asmRxTtBCQ

Overall this game has a very strong sense of what it wants to be, which i heavily commend it for. its controls are really clunky, buttons being only used for one action [ie entering a plant] feel weird if the same button doesn't reverse it. and the Left mouse button covering all actions for the game is a bit much. if i were to recommend left mouse button for planting and right for shooting.
