Save the Earth (2023)

I really wanted to like this game, being a lover of similar games and loving the issues it is about, but there are persistant bugs that make finishing any scenario after the 3 introductory scenarios simply impossible.

Nice free boardgame-like educational package.... Its more of a look into the bureaucratic side of eco-challenges.... Plays a little like a Risk game. The first three levels are tutorials and the other three are more fleshed-out scenarios.... So its a pretty concise package. As you play there are some 'choices matter' moments that illustrate some ecological considerations on the global stage. When it ends it praises you superficially with the completion time, yes urgency an gamely competitiveness, at the risk of under-mining the message as it should always be a consideration, not just us finding ourselves in combative catch-up crisis aversion mode. There are difficulty options and the game is superficially easy at the start and almost doesn't feel like a game but an educational tour as you enact policies to grow progress in certain ecological areas as habitability and regional loyalty. For the sake of spending time to do the project justice I don't recommend playing it on easy. A few times my research bubbles stopped collecting so I had to reload my save to continue, no harm no foul.... Pffff, this game, it just hooked me up so much! The graphics are simple and beautiful. There are no bugs. The problems and causes of ecological problems are explained on a simple to consume tong. It has events where you can make choices and the campaign missions are really good, even on hardcore mode they are made both to make you sweat from little pressure and still even to loose you take pleasure! The way of how the game is made, it reminds me of the "Rebel Inc. Escalation" game. And when we gaze upon the way of how those 2 games are made, the structure, ideas for initiatives and the way of how they are rolled out, it make you in a state of deep curiosity with a special question - "Could the ideas for initiatives in those 2 games and the scheme upon which they are rolled out, could they be implemented in real life in order a given region to be stabilized? Both Ecologically Politically?" I believe that the regions of "North-West Bulgaria" and the "Strandja-Sakar" in my motherland could be actually the best Sandbox where the Ideas of both games can be tested. I never publish reviews, but I gladly do this time. I'm not much of a player in general, I never have enough time, but here the matches are quite fast and not frustrating. Also...shall we say it? A game with an ecological conscience! Finally! I'd make it compulsory in schools. I have downloaded this game both here on Steam and on my mobile device. To the creators of the game: well done, keep it up! Greetings from Italy!
