What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players overwhelmingly criticize Gregor Hills Haunted Hospital for its poor quality, describing it as an asset flip with outdated pixel graphics, unclear design choices, and lazy horror elements relying on cheap jumpscares and loud noises instead of genuine atmosphere. The few positive notes mention it as an easy walking simulator with simple puzzles, but this is vastly outweighed by complaints about the game's low production values, lack of content depth, and overall lack of polish for its price point.
Let me just say this first, i won this through a random steam key gift from someone. There is no way on gods green earth i would pay for this heap of s*** Like seriously, released in 2019???? This is more expensive than GRID2 on steam ffs!?! I have never played a game for a whole ten minutes and wanted so badly the ten minutes of my life back....even more so i wish i could give steam the key back so i dont have to be reminded of the whole ordeal everytime i look at my game library5 found this helpful
Gregor Hills Haunted Hospital is an asset/template flip from Anamik Majumdar, who did this already with his "Haunted Jail: Alcatas" and "House Number 666" games, it's the exact same game with a different skin. It's a 2D top down retro pixel stealth/puzzle game where you wander around a house that doesn't have much in the way of lighting to discover it's haunted. Run away from the monsters and solve the simple switch flicking puzzles. The implementation here is garbage. They chose to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC. No matter how many times Anamik does a copy+paste of this godawful game, it's not going to suddenly become anything better than garbage.3 found this helpful
Its terrible, the art sucks, the scares look like they were made by a 5 year old.2 found this helpful
Genuinely terrible. Flashing text and blaring noises as horror. Levels appear to just be the same level with progression objects moved around.1 found this helpful

Nice walking simulator, with some easy puzles (Find a key / switch) and JumpScare elements. Achievements: Easy 100% / 30min.
