Heltons Haunted Hotel is a 2D Top Down Survival Horror game based on the story of a Haunted hotel, located in Helton City, which has witnessed the various tragic incidents occurred during the early 2000s.
Heltons Hotel is considered to be one of the top Haunted locations in the city which attracts the paranormal investigators and the psychics. This hotel was first established in 1970 and was one of the oldest hotels in the area. However, the various tragic incidents which occurred during the early 2000s resulted in the escalation in the Paranormal activities. During the early 2000s, some suicides, and brutal murders were reported in some of the rooms of the hotel. It was heard that a man who was suffering from depression had jumped of the window of the sixth floor and died on spot. The spirits of the man was visible in the hallways and many customers reported that they were being followed everywhere by the same spirit. It was also reported that some of the customers performed Satanic rituals in the basement which opened a doorway for the other spirits to enter the hotel premises. It had resulted in the escalation of the paranormal activities recently and the owner of the hotel were losing customers because they were scared to sleep in the rooms. One of them even left in the middle of the night.
Finally, the owner being desperate for help called the Psychic and the paranormal investigator, Vivia, to investigate the location in order to capture the evidence of the Paranormal activities in the hotel. She is a famous Paranormal investigator and a Psychic medium with lots of modern scientific equipment like EMF meter, EVP recorder, Structured Light Sensor or SLS, Night Vision and Spectrum cameras etc.
You play as Vivia, the paranormal investigator, and your mission is to investigate the hotel, and collect the paranormal evidences. Will you be able to help out the owner of the hotel?

Heltons Haunted Hotel is a template flip from Anamik Majumdar, who keeps reskinning the same lame GameMaker Studio game template and re-releasing it on Steam with a few minor changes. The GameMaker Studio template he keeps re-releasing is just a basic retro pixel (couldn't he rip off a template with proper graphics??) 2D top down stealth/action game. Rubbish, absolute Rubbish The sprite quality is atrocious, they look like bobble heads The gameplay is also awful, its hand holding at its finest Scares are just jumpscares, nothing with any substance the plot is also bloody faulty, seriously your main protagonist is a PSYCHIC and she uses what GHOST HUNTERS USE like cameras, emf readers and whatever else to find ghosts when she doesn't NEED ANY OF THAT ♥♥♥♥ also the presentation when it comes to text reading is also rubbish, you have what I can estimate is a size 10 font with a stupid oversized box oh and loading saves don't work, ♥♥♥♥ this game, not worth $1.50 AUD, not even worth the .70 Sale Rubbish/106 found this helpful

Helton's Haunted Hotel is a very nice and simple 2D pixel game. I actually had a lot of fun playing through it and got excited a few times when I died. But that meant I knew what was coming next and could prepare myself to avoid it. After a few attempts, I finally managed to play it all the way through. I love the archives. All I can say about the other reviews is that I can only partially understand them. Sure, the game still has a few things that could be done better, but I love the fact that it's not a simple game where you're just led through. Most of the time you have to figure out where to go and learn from your mistakes! These are games I like, but I still have a few small comments: The hitboxes on some walls are a bit miserable because you get stuck, but there's nothing to get stuck on. Some text boxes can't be clicked away, they stay there for a while, even though I've already read through them and I can't see where I'm going through these boxes. In general, it's a nice indie game and I'm already looking forward to playing the other parts! Learn from your mistakes and don't be too hard on developers because making games isn't as easy as you all think and I can say th…1 found this helpful
Good game overall. You just need to pass through certain events to activate the save points. Trial and error. Not a complex game. Good fun for 1 hour.
