About Gun Bombers
In a Nutshell
Gun Bombers is a top-down 2D arena shooter. Play with up to 10 players (LAN / Online) in randomly generated and fully destructible maps. Although primarily a multiplayer game some single player and co-op content is also available.
How it works
Gun Bombers is a round-based multiplayer game. In each round you mine for gold, treasures and other specialty items that might aid you. You also have to watch out and combat other miners until the last one is standing or when the timer runs out. In between the rounds you purchase and equip better weapons, bombs and items. You are scored points for various things including mining minerals and defeating other miners. The winner is the one with the highest score after the final round.

Mine Bombers?
Skitso Productions developed their classic hot seat multiplayer game Mine Bombers in 1995. Gun Bombers is a homage to that game - a modern remake if you will. The original developers have given their blessings to this game.

A remastered version of one of the greatest multiplayer games of old times "Mine Bombers", it was released in 2016, but I didn't know about it until yesterday, it was truly amazing discovery! Sadly there is almost no info about it when searching a remake of Mine Bombers, as it is called Gun Bombers. Spent a lot of time searching for this, found it accidently on some forum... There are some issues with performance on lava levels (growing lava stuttering), but it's not critical. Thank you very much developers, keep it up and don't abandon this great project! 10/101 found this helpful
Gun Bombers, developed and published by Antti Vaihia, is a fast-paced top-down arena shooter that blends chaotic multiplayer combat with resource gathering and destructible environments. While its presentation is simple and its scale modest, the game stands out through its combination of strategic mining mechanics and explosive player-versus-player battles. Designed with both competitive and cooperative play in mind, it offers a compact but energetic experience that thrives most when shared with others. At its core, Gun Bombers drops players into destructible, randomly generated cave-like arenas where survival and scoring go hand in hand. Players assume the role of miners armed with guns and explosives, competing to eliminate opponents while simultaneously collecting gold and treasure scattered throughout the environment. This dual focus adds a layer of tactical decision-making uncommon in straightforward arena shooters. Players must constantly weigh whether to aggressively pursue opponents or take the risk of venturing deeper into the map to mine valuable resources that can be used for upgrades between rounds. The destructible terrain is one of the game’s defining features. Near…
Reminds me of Dwarfs!?, which was somehow lower-ish quality but seemingly better than this. Meh..
awesome sauce!
The game is not working right. You can't play multiplayer, even if your friend sends you IP adress to connect - YOU CAN'T DO IT.
LOVE this game, worthy remake of my old favorite! One question though: is it possible to host a LAN game and add bots as enemies? Just like in old Mine Bombers. thx
