Hidden Mars developed and published by Animalle Studio is a minimalist hidden object experience that leans fully into calm, observation-driven gameplay, offering a quiet and focused alternative to more complex puzzle titles. Set across stylized depictions of the Martian surface, the game invites players to search for a small astronaut cat hidden within each scene, turning a simple premise into a relaxing exercise in visual attention. The gameplay is built around a single, consistent loop: carefully scanning large, hand-drawn environments to locate hidden characters blended into the scenery. There are no timers, no penalties for mistakes, and no layered mechanics to learn, allowing players to engage with the game at their own pace. This lack of pressure is central to its design, transforming what could have been a straightforward puzzle into something closer to a meditative activity. I don't even know why we are looking for the cats. We should just be happy--they are on Mars, where they belong!!!
It didn’t take me long to finish, which was a bit disappointing because I really liked the art style—the cats in astronaut suits were especially cute. I prefer playing without music, but there wasn’t an option to turn it off. The moving objects flying around also got a bit annoying, though that might have been partly due to the music. Overall, it’s a pretty average game that still needs some work. If you’re interested, it’s probably best to pick it up on sale.
Awkward controls, no click and drag, zooming is limited to the two buttons at the top of the screen. It was short and cheap, but there are better hidden object games for the same price
Awkward controls - zoom with +/- instead of mouse scroll. None really hidden. Not worth it, even on sale.
