I hate it. I only bought it because buying it made some other game like 10 cents cheaper.
Puzzles get repetitive after the first 20-30. Not worth the playtime. Also no keyboard controls :(
This game is actually a pretty good puzzle game i bought this game just to give it a whirl and i thought the gameplay is fun because it kind of messes with your brain and you have to figure out where the cube needs to go. i would recommend this to my friends if they wanted to try something new!
*hocus*, created by Yunus Ayyildiz and Sho Ohhira and published by Yunus Ayyildiz, is a quietly captivating puzzle game that builds its entire experience around perception rather than complexity. It doesn’t rely on elaborate mechanics, narrative hooks, or visual spectacle to draw players in. Instead, it offers a stripped-down, almost meditative environment where the challenge comes from rethinking how space itself works. The result is a game that feels both intellectually stimulating and strangely calming, a rare combination that defines its appeal from the very first level. The central mechanic is elegantly simple: guide a cube along pathways that twist and intersect in ways that defy normal spatial logic. What initially appears impossible gradually becomes understandable as players learn to reinterpret the environment. Platforms that seem disconnected suddenly align when viewed from the right angle, and routes that look blocked reveal hidden continuity through perspective. The brilliance of the design lies in how it encourages players to stop thinking in conventional terms and instead embrace a more fluid understanding of geometry. Solutions often arrive not through trial-and-er…
worth it
I usually get grumpy about mobile games getting ported to Steam, but I also have a soft spot for optical illusions and games based on them. Hocus has a simple premise and is easy to start playing. Player input consists only of choosing which direction to move the red cube in an effort to guide it to the exit (or is it the entrance?). Once a direction is chosen, the cube moves until it reaches a junction, where it waits for your next instruction. There is no camera movement, because the fixed perspective is essential to the puzzle.
