About Homemade TCG

Gameplay
  • Reduce opponent's life from 20 to 0 to win; by playing cards and attacking.
  • 5-card starting hand. Draw a new card each turn. (The player going first doesn't draw during their first turn.)
  • You can play 1 card from your hand each turn. (Play more cards using card effects.)
  • Each card can attack once each turn. (NO summoning sickness.)
  • If opponent has any card(s) on the field, you have to attack 1 of them.
  • When an enemy is attacked, it dies.
  • When there is no enemies, your attack becomes a direct attack.
  • Direct attack makes your opponent lose life equal to your card's power.
  • All cards have a default power of 1 unless overwritten by card effects.
  • Game ends when a player runs out of life, or draws / mills a card when they have none left in their deck.
Roguelike
  • This game is a roguelike. After losing a game, you lose all progress and have to start all-over.
  • There is no progression system between runs, rather all cards are available from downloading the game.
  • At the start of a run, you pick 4 cards of 3-choices-each to form your starting deck.
  • 2 new cards can be picked after each win.
  • Each run has 5 floors, and the final boss.
Good luck, and let's have fun playing cards!

I don't know what was going on but you can definitely sense that it had great meaning to the creator. Looking forward to the next game :)

An enjoyable acid trip, if you can endure the visuals until you get used to them. The game also desperately needs a tutorial, so expect having to figure out yourself how the more obscure mechanics and keywords work. Definitely not for most people, but if you enjoy obscure card games this might be worth your time.

Obviously hasn't been updated since 2022. No improvements since then like some of the reviews hoped for. You need to already be familiar enough with the original generation of Yugioh just to make assumptions for how the game is played, until you're finally able to understand how each of the keywords are meant to work. Otherwise, there's no tutorial and no way for you to keep up with what's going on other than trial and error. As you deck build and expand your deck, you need to keep a theme in mind. I dont think there's a way to edit your deck, so everything you collect stays in your deck until you lose. I'm assuming you start all over once you lose, but I haven't lost after several floors. Some deck themes are definitely better than others, but you should be fine as long as you don't spread the theme too far. Choosing the same card as one you've already chosen is probably just a skip reward, I don't think it does anything. Every card you get has 3 (or 4?) copies. All that said, the art and music are annoying. The music is clearly trying to resemble the Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advanced yugioh game music, but ends up doing so much that it just sounds bad.
