Achievments are broken. The cooldown mechanic heats up rather than cooling down and that is dumb. Sword has the range of a 10 foot pole.2 found this helpful

Hot steel is a poorly made 2D top down retro pixel/"hand drawn" wave survival brawler as you control some ninja guy in a pumpkin patch and you have to slash at various samey copy+pasted enemies that walk towards you mindlessly. It was made by dumping some badly drawn low resolution/pixel assets onto a crappy GameMaker Studio template. This is surely what the future of gaming is all about, what a time to be alive. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The artwork here is terrible, it's a blend of old retro pixel "art" used as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics, and some of the most amateurish MS-Paint style drawings (I won't deign to call these "illustrations"). It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget to arrange someone who can do graphics properly, or lack of talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result of these decisions. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game…1 found this helpful
A fully handdrawn roaming platform slash & shoot against pretty unique monsters with particular musical scores!
I don't need to play a game like this that long, in order to have an impression of it. Your sword of absolute slashyness has a cooldown if you use it too yolo-ish, so you need to change weapons sometimes. That is pretty cool, because in most games, you can just spam using one weapon throughout an entire game. Not with this one. Plus the fact there are chests in the game, AND it's fully handdrawn and doesn't look like crap, AND it has some particular music scores: This game has scored a lot of points already! If you were looking for a ninja type of game ( I know, I know, this is a monster hunter, not a ninja, but my impression of this guy feels like a ninja, maybe he was a ninja, but decided to become a monster hunter instead ) or just searching for a special platform game that offers a little bit more then the usual with a wide range of different types of monsters, big & small, with impressive boss battles and lot's of action? Then look no further, this might be that little gem you were waiting for. Made by somebody who was probably searching for …1 found this helpful
