Iron Heart is a very fun TD game!1 found this helpful
Iron Heart is a tower defense experience that embraces a classic formula while enhancing it with a distinctive steampunk setting and a steady stream of tactical challenges. Developed by Creobit and published by 8floor, the game transports players to a world threatened by a mechanical uprising originating deep beneath the earth. The premise may be straightforward, but it provides enough context to support the action as players command the defense of humanity against an expanding army of robotic invaders. Rather than focusing heavily on storytelling, the game prioritizes strategic gameplay and level progression, making it an appealing choice for fans of traditional tower defense design. The game's greatest strength lies in its atmosphere. The steampunk-inspired world is filled with industrial machinery, underground cities, mining complexes, and mechanical enemies that fit naturally within the setting. The visual presentation succeeds in creating a sense of conflict between humanity and technology, giving battles more personality than many generic tower defense titles. While the graphics are not particularly advanced by modern standards, the artistic direction is consistent and effec…
Enjoyed it enough, but I like their other TD games better. If you follow the unwritten rule of games like this (no damage allowed), it can be quite challenging.
This game seems fun at the beginning but then suddenly becomes impossible to play. One adds stars yet they are not counted toward the stars necessary to go to the next level. This is just lazy programming to make it seem like there is a gradual increase in difficulty (although I'm really not sure who would be fooled). There is also no real grind to accumulate anything since once you've achieved 2 stars for a level there is nothing you can get unless you complete it perfectly for 3 stars. Knowing all this now, I would not go back and buy this game for more than 99 cents.
The game is pretty hard which wouldn't be a problem since I like difficult TD games except for how incredibly slow it is to upgrade your stats and towers with only a few total levels. The levels require you to get a perfect score in order to get more upgrade points but getting a perfect score is pretty much impossible unless you keep beating more levels while under-powered. Didn't provide me that addictive progression that TD games usually do since progression here moves at a snails pace with only a few levels. - If you want something quick and cheap TD dopamine, this is your game. - If you want an in-depth addictive TD, this aint the one.
Way too easy and short. 3-4hours worth of fun.
