Hotel Manibella operates as a highly derivative, first-person horror puzzle adventure that strictly confines its interactive loops to the exhausted tropes of the indie walking-simulator sub-genre. Developed and published by David Montesi Rivas, the project manifests immediate structural limitations inherent to its low-budget, raw micro-scale production. The design doctrine deliberately bypasses sophisticated level layouts or dynamic entity behaviors, shifting its entire operational focus toward a basic elevator-based progression matrix where the operator must evade simplistic enemy AI nodes across a series of dimly lit, linear corridors.From a ludological perspective, the title offers zero mechanical innovation, recycling a baseline gameplay loop of localized key-hunting and rudimentary event-triggering puzzle execution under a strict time-failure constraint. Gatrbage. Shouldn't be allowed on steam. No Youtube walkthrough exiists/. Can't get started out hte door until you solve the puzzle which I cant solve. Ends up with some stupid animation of a snake in your face every time and kills you so you have to restarr. No hints. Should be removed off Steam. Garbage. Terrible. Don't pl;ay this free game

"Hotel Manibella" is yet another of several hundred (possibly asset flipped) first person horror adventures glutting Steam, this one a very mediocre one from a developer who really really likes the colour red. Evade the monster, maybe solve some crappy puzzles... it's all so tiresome. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $3 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. Storyline? What storyline? And good luck doing the "IQ puzzle" in time without getting killed repeatedly. Rating: 2/10

1.3 There isn't much to say, There are some puzzles and they do work, they are mostly a timed kind of thing or a 'chase' sequence (essentially a timer on getting through the area). The animations are really stilted and if caught just amount to a Jumpscare. I got to a point after about 10 minutes where I couldn't progress, A woman behind a glass wall gets attacked, if I go right after some corridors and a little puzzle I am met with a dead end and it restarts to main menu, hitting play again means I gotta do a short tunnel chase again before returning to the glass box. Going left initiates another fake chase that the only way through seems to be a part that has you fall and then main menu again. Unsure if there IS more?
