How To Build Your Igloo

Super solid sliding puzzle. New mechanics are brought in gradually and each of the 250 levels is different enough to keep the game fresh. Uncovering new areas and levels through exploration in the large game world is satisfying.

This is a fairly spartan but solidly coded puzzler, with a central mechanic that every move causes you to slide until you hit an obstacle. While that's not exactly original, the implementation makes up for it, with full undo all the way back to the start, and responsive controls that never mistake an analog joystick movement for something other than what I intended (amazing how many grid-based puzzlers get that wrong!). The puzzles start very easy and ramp up to thought provoking but not frustrating by mid-game (I've only finished 50%). They are all bite sized, usually taking about 1-3 minutes each to solve, making this a pleasant filler game between epic sessions of The Witness or whatever ;-) The screenshots reveal most of what's disappointing about the game: the monotony. The puzzles do progress with a few new twists and remain entertaining, but nothing hugely transformative happens and I tend to only play for 20 minutes at a time. The graphics are always the same fairly lame "I'm a programmer" style, without even a fresh coat of paint as you progress. And the music is always the same. Sliding puzzle with simple gameplay and basic graphics. The basics are straightforward: you must collect igloo parts by sliding your character across the frozen floor. You can slide in four directions and only come to a stop when you hit a wall or other obstacle. The camera is not a problem because it can be freely rotated. You'll also appreciate the undo option, which can save you a lot of time. Although 250 levels may appear to be a lot, the difficulty curve is generous, and you'll be able to complete half of the igloo in an hour or two. A stage is accessible via a sort of global map, which is simply a massive stage with several rooms and passageways linking them. A useful map shows solved and unsolved rooms, and rooms that are obscured by fog. Although the game begins with a simple mechanic, it gradually adds more as you continue through the game. Snow heaps obstruct your slide, and cracked floors crumble when you slide over them. Logic challenges start when you finish the igloo and start seeing block that need to be pushed in the right place. Enjoyed the game very much, somehow snuck in and found an issue with the last level making the game unbeatable, reached out to the guide maker and the Dev, the guide maker discovered the issue and found a workaround and the Dev fixed the issue for future players all within 48hrs so wholesome.

A very nice implementation of the core mechanic. Skating around feels great. The puzzles in the first half of the game are not very difficult, but still rewarding to solve. Later levels can be pretty challenging.

This is an amazing puzzle game! It has a seemingly endless amount of levels (250 actually) that range from "piece-of-cake" to "my brain is mush" in difficulty. My favorite part of this game is not the levels themselves, but the elaborate overworld, which is a puzzle itself! Brilliant!
