HuGe

HuGe is yet another asset flip/construction kit flip from serial shovelware copy+paste "artists", Dnovel/FreeAnimals_Software. These guys do nothing but rip off asset store assets and copy game tutorials and templates, and dump them on Steam and into DailyIndieGame bundles as cash grabs. Today's "effort" from these guys is HuGe, and it's a garbage 2D minimalist "rotating level" puzzle "platformer" slapped together with the godawful Cocos Creator game development kit, presumably a copy+paste from someone else's actual work developing a game. DNovel seem to really love this template as they've copy+pasted it several times with a different skin (Neon, LP, RotateX, etc etc etc). As a game, it's terrible, of course. It's janky, resolution and controls are locked, and the gameplay is so poor it gave me a migraine. For that reason, as a "game", this is below acceptable standards, and has no real merit or value as a genuine, sincerely made PC game. Using game construction kits doesn't need any talent or professional game development effort, and results in terrible shovelware like HuGe. HuGe

Ok, so I've had a solid mix of pleasantly surprised and utterly disappointed going through this developers catalog of games. This one I loaded and I could not move. The help screen said use either WASD or directional cursors. I tried both and could still not rotate the screen. Then I plugged a controller in and the Steam page immediately said controllers not supported for this game, or something like that. Wrong! The controller was the actually the only way I could play. W in T actual F? Although I had fun with this short game after I actually got it to work I think there is a term for games like this: shovelware!

Very easy game, took about 20 minutes to get every achievements. Gun/shooting mechanic is kinda useless, with aiming being difficult. Menu is missing every levels.

A worse version of a game from the same dev: "Cash Horse - Match 3 Puzzle Adventure". Dont bother. Im on a quest of at least trying every game in my library, of which I got plenty from all kinds of bundles, not all though. If you are interested in my journey, check out my other reviews :)
