Not as good as the first HunterX. I was wrong in my criticism in the last game where I said that I missed the multiple weapon types. That returned here but this time around, it didn't feel as good. Probably because of the heaviness of the weapons. On top of that, everything felt slow and parry felt way worse than the last game. It didn't feel as responsive and even when landing a parry, the follow up attack rarely felt good. There was also a lot more platforming and it felt more aggravating than rewarding. I can see why some would like it because it does add an extra layer of difficulty, but because of how much slower the game felt, it didn't feel good to me. The story was a bit better in this one, albeit still a little confusing. You can tell that they want to do another, which I hope they do. But I hope they'll go back to what worked in the last game. With there being two protagonists, I would think that maybe you can swap between the two in the next one. I think that would make it better to experiment with the game mechanics that felt better.1 found this helpful
It's alright.
If you are looking for a basic metroidvania to pass the time then get SotN, Afterimage or some other good metroidvanias first and then if you see this on sale and just want to kill 12 hours of your life... then you can buy it.
Very fun just like Hunter X was. Another fun one to try was maids of salvation. It can be frustrating when you get stuck. I did trying to find double jump, and had to use a youtube video to figure out what I missed, but it happens. Good music, good pacing, responsive, and just overall fun. Also quite the steal for the price. Give it a shot.
Literally the same game as the first one, with reused enemies, itens, npcs and so on, but it was still a decent time, so...
