About Hyperbolic Ignition
Take control of a deadly spacecraft to destroy hordes of vicious enemies from faraway galaxies in arcade shooter Hyperbolic Ignition. With 360 degrees of movement and combat, drift through the pitch-black void of space amidst the debris and explosions of fallen foes. As the last known survivor of their race without a place to call home, resist the ongoing pursuit of hostile adversaries. Become the fierce fighter pilot known only in fantasies.
Gripping Space Action – Utilizing 15 different possible weapon combinations from 8 different weapon types, tailor your arsenal to best suit the situation and towards your desired play-style. Each of the 4 areas presents a unique combat style that will force you to adapt.
Swarming Enemies and Projectiles – 21 unique enemies, including 4 powerful bosses, with their own movement patterns and weaponry, quickly fill the player’s view with danger. Swift maneuvering, precise timing, and aggressive counterattack by the player are key to overcoming their onslaught.
Infinite Hard Mode – After defeating normal mode, unlock an endless challenge to test one’s true ability. In this mode, players must survive while defeating enemies that increase in numbers to achieve the highest score and rank on the leaderboards.

Hyperbolic Ignition is a top down shooter where you pilot a star fighter that mows down hordes of enemies. There is an absolute plethora of top down wave clearing shooters out there, so how does Hyperbolic Ignition stack up as a budget title? When you boot up the game you are treated to retro inspired looks. The game uses a bright pallet against the darkness of space, which makes it easy to differentiate between foes, bullets, and power ups. The sound feels right at home though the game features a single music track. Its not grating, but not noteworthy either. The controls, while not terrible, are mapped oddly and can take a bit to get used to. Z,x,c, and v are your weapons while you use the directional keys to move. It has an old school feel to it, but its alright and works for the game. You cannot change these controls, though you may use a controller. Gameplay wise its an Asteroids-like game. Waves of baddies come, you gotta shoot them down. Simple. Hyperbolic Ignition spices it up with a boss that spawns after a minute of two of blasting enemies. However, every stage is the same. As an avid fan of the old school Asteroids classic and a developer of Rock 'N Roll here on Steam myself, I was hopeful that this game would be right up my alley. It "should" be. Save yourself 90% (or 95% or whatever the savings are) and buy a much better game instead: http://store.steampowered.com/app/433950/Bit_Blaster_XL/ (Or find one of the other many much better made Asteroid type games available on Steam, most of them which cost less as well) 2/10 is my overall score, hurt mostly by a terrible value score.5 found this helpful
really great fun to be had here.
yea this game is worth a buck, tho a fix for the ♥♥♥♥ movement controls is needed. make to more like deip,io but without the mouse and with a joystick instead or atleast a option to make the controls like that.
