This game seriously needs more love. It's addictive and a feast for the eyes, and the soundtrack is excellent as well. If you have fond memories of Tempest or Gyruss, or simply enjoy a good semi-abstract shooter with some trippy visuals, Hyper Void is very much worth your time.

To be bluntly honest this one totally out-Tempests Theurer/Minter's own Tempest 4000. It looks gorgeous without becoming obtrusive, your ship is gloriously responsive, there are difficulty option and some unlockables, all for half the price. The only con is that there's no native mouse support therefore no hope for spin controller. But the game's standard movement + dash modifier scheme does work reasonably well. No tube-shooter fan's library should be without this one - that's coming from a diehard fan of the original arcade Tempest and Tempest 2000 on Jag.

excellent game, don't let your buddies take the controls. Real 1980s aesthetic success!

Criminally underrated 3D space shooter game. The level and game design are minimalistic, but never feel repetetive, it is like a 2D shooter, but perfectly designed into a 3D version with "mind bending" level design. The graphics feels very well polished, were the game looks like a futuristic shooter game. The game really feels pure, everything in it was dedicated toward the digital space style and nothing else. Enemy's have really well thought out of patterns which never feel out of place. Sometimes the level design itself becomes a enemy, like when a meteor hits a planet in the background and you have to avoid and shoot the debris flying toward you. The music, it is dark when your in a level were you need caution and uplifting when your ready to fight hordes of enemy's. Actually, I love the techno music in this game that much that sometimes I play this game just to listen to the emmersive music. If you like space sim like those 2D ones from arcades, this might be the game for you.

Galaga! but in astounding sci-fi graphics in addition to how the game manipulates the 3D aspect is what made this game a unique yet Underrated piece! It deserves way more attention. Would recommend this on PC especially for having more exclusive features than Console releases!
