I Did Not Buy This Ticket

"I'm all out of hope One more bad dream Could bring a fall"
Eyes Without a Face
I can almost never sleep on a bus. At least, not the normal kind of sleep. It's more like slipping into a state of semi-consciousness, with one leg firmly planted in the uneasy reality of travelling on public transport and the other drifting in cloudy waters, lazily dangling from Hypnos' boat. I can't even imagine how I'd be able to catch some Z's if I found myself on a mystery bus that I did not buy a ticket for. The description mentions that I Did Not Buy This Ticket is a short psychological horror game, but to be honest, it is mildly unsettling, not horror. I believe the game is described better as a creepy and surreal visual novel. So, if you are looking for a horror experience, you'd best look for it elsewhere. If however, you are interested in a mystery game where you have to piece together a puzzle of tragedy and grief, where the pieces are presented in the form of reccuring, bizzare places/characters and mentally-taxing introspection, then take a seat and strap yourself in: the bus will depart soon. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3762010790 "When I'm …

A wonderful exploration of loss, grief and self-reflection and utterly, utterly beautiful to look at. The art style fits the surreal atmosphere of the narrative perfectly - this is the first visual novel that ever got me excited to unlock new images in the game's gallery, simply because each one of them is a piece of art

Fantastic art. Enjoyed the short playthrough and high replay value to get different outcomes.

A short, surreal horror story with outstanding art.

Interesting very short little abstract horror vn. It apparently has like 17 endings, but I don't really care enough to play them. I had fun tho.

Solid 6.5/10. Great art style and atmosphere, but the story has you expecting more than you get. Didn't run perfectly smoothly but was playable. Not worth the full price, but on a sale, maybe worth it.
