Idle Keep

it's OKAY, nothing extraordinary, missing some QOL to make it a real idler. the problem is that he can do nothing once he runs out of materials, instead of lets say go grind some generic stuff. you have to be there for fights to heal because he wont heal by himself, neither food nor potions, which make this NOT a idler. still ok for some grindy feel, you leave it on your other monitor, but it kinda feels like it should be more like those desktop idler that sits in the corner. too much random grind to get the pets, you'll cap everything before you even have half of the skill tree.

Playing to clear up achievements, but I won't recommend this game, even less than $5. It's weakly designed, and it feels to me like it was the result of a prompt to generative AI. Will only run in full screen mode if your resolution is 1920x1080. Frequently messes up my audio so that any other app playing sound will just put out static. Poor menu design and no manual to explain what the icons are for some of the item characteristics. Loot you've won in combat or items you've crafted won't show up in inventory. Despite it only displaying 2D graphics and no parallel task handling in the game (you can only farm, fight, or craft at any given time, no minions to assign subtasks to), it is identified in Windows Task Manager as "very high" power usage. Despite its title, players really can't leave this idling for a significant amount of time for crafting or combat, so that leaves only farming. Since it uses so much power, breaks other apps' audio, doesn't resize out of fullscreen mode well, this fails as a good idler. Still reading? Hopefully by now the case of why this game isn't recommendable is clear.

Idle Keep is an "Excel RPG Idler" in the same vein as Melvor and Astaryn. While it's mostly menu-based, the changing background artwork gives it a bit more visual appeal than many other games in the genre. **Pros:** + Plenty of things to do, including gathering, combat, and crafting. + The XP system gradually unlocks new items and resources, giving a steady sense of progression. + The job-specific background artwork makes the game feel more lively than most spreadsheet-style idlers. + A large passive skill tree lets you improve almost every aspect of the game. + You can dig up chickens. **Cons:** - The early game is very slow. Fun game, and in good state *for a game this new*. Only a semi-idle game : it's the kind that is really more optimised if you keep it open and make some micro managment every 15-30 minutes. May be the ilde part will grow with futur update and some tools for planification (at least instuction like "build X stuff", instead of "build it until you have no ressources then do nothing"), or autochange of tools when you pass from fight to mining or woodcutting)). The game is already interesting, but could became really a great game with few "fun updates", that make some adjustements in the "rpg stuff" : more cool and game changing passives, craft, buffs... Right now, it respect the rule of an iteration game "the next level of farm is a bit better than the previous one", but without play very much on the rpg side (item with a really important passive effect that offer choices exists, kudo bucket helm for example, but are rare and almost always just forgetable when you pass their tier).

Cute little Idle game, lots of content to explore and things to discover. Easy to play in the background while working! Was fun collecting the pets but wish they impacted the game a little more, but other than that really enjoyable little game especially for the price!
