YOU ARE NOT IN KANSAS ANYMORE

Incursion Red River lets you engage with up to 3 of your friends as squadmates throughout a destabilized Vietnam. Complete Operations and Tasks for 3 diverse factions throughout several detailed maps to increase your reputation and rewards. Shoot and loot your way through immersive tropics against deadly AI encounters to gain influence, wealth, and uncover dark mysteries, or die trying and lose it all.

PLAN AHEAD FOR YOUR DEPLOYMENT

The goal is to provide a balanced first-person experience that feels realistic, yet fun.
Equipment and weapons influence ergonomics and combat playstyle, so you will need to pick your loadout carefully. Access the Marketplace to purchase limited quantities of weapons, medical equipment, gear, and ammunition. Whether you prefer to scope in from afar or keep things close and personal, loud or quiet, day or night, rain or shine - you choose how you get the task done. Simulated ballistic systems affect weapons and have unique characteristics that can be adjusted with attachments. Bringing in the right gear, having a proper plan of attack, and emphasizing tactical plays will maximize the success rate for deployments.

CUSTOMIZE TO YOUR OWN STYLE

Select and fully customize a wide variety of weapons and gear. Swap out barrels, handguards, foregrips, stocks, sights or magazines and turn your trusty Kalashnikov from a close-quarters menace, into a deadly accurate long-range rifle. Utilize the Gunsmith table to save & load your favorite presets.
However, the customizable experience doesn’t stop at your loadout. Play to your strengths or call out your weaknesses by adjusting or fine-tuning AI difficulty at any point to ensure you always have the right level of challenge.

WHY ARE YOU HERE?

After nearly 20 years, the People’s Liberation Army repels the invasion of Vietnam, and with continued Soviet Union backing, arms manufacturing and exports prosper along with the country as a whole.

Another 20 years go by, and the Soviet Union collapses. Vietnam then reluctantly finds its new source of stabilization from the eager West.

Years pass and Western influence spreads until the rebuilt Russia helps fund a new political party in its own image, the Vietnamese Communist Union Party (VCUP). Following a heavily tampered election VCUP wins against the old government, who doesn’t go willingly.

The less-than-fair election sparks a quiet civil war, both sides fought for by local citizens, and backed by foreign nations in the shadows. A year of “civil war” trudges by slowly.

Eventually, Russia grows impatient with the transfer of power and allies itself with North Korea for more direct action, sending in the Iron Guard Corps (IGC). Western nations respond, providing “humanitarian aid” via United Intercontinental Security (UICS), and sick of endless imperialism, the Vietnamese Liberation Front (VLF) rises among the local population to free Vietnam.

The tense calm that followed the unjust election quickly falls apart as each faction redoubles its efforts to gain control, ramping up their military forces.

Amidst the noise, historic and renowned black-ops corporation FANG has given YOU a promotion. YOUR new operation is to get to know the factions, covertly carry out their tasks against each other, and figure out why you are really here.

All you know is that if FANG finds what they are looking for, you will save untold lives.

WHO ARE THE PARTIES INVOLVED?

UNITED INTERCONTINENTAL SECURITY (UICS)
UICS is a semi-neutral European organization that offers humanitarian aid to the locals. Some in their ranks, however, have ulterior motives of violently purging the East. They have established a strong presence, setting up in abandoned military bases and widely expanding their ground.

VIETNAMESE LIBERATION FRONT (VLF)
The VLF is a growing local movement with new leadership and intentions of liberating Vietnam from foreign influence once and for all. Using their knowledge of the area and lingering connections, their strategic and violent raids continue to succeed against the invading factions.

IRON GUARD CORPS (IGC)
The IGC, formed by Russia and North Korea, sits in the seat of power, militarily propping up a sympathetic government. Better for Vietnam to be supported by neighbors than the capitalist West. In order to avoid a full world war, the IGC must balance military action and accountability but has no intentions of stepping back.

Disclaimer: Written by casual gamers on mid-level hardware. We decided to give IRR a try for two main reasons: 1. To really [REALLY] support smaller development teams and give them an opportunity - the most important overall reason! 2. The recent Reworked AI by Solarint sounded promising. In an era where intelligent opponents often make or break a shooter, this was our key gameplay reason! The experience? While playing on Hard I had an enemy right in front of me for about an entire minute shooting 3 meters to my left. This is not what we expected. To keep it short and to the point, rendering had its issues when loading up a mission and yes, loading times are [a bit] too long but these are things we could easily overlook. Once all textures loaded, the game ran fine on High settings and the world looked very - if not extremely - nice! Movement was good, sounds were good, and I could go on, and on, and on but these are essentially sidenotes if I am to be faithful to my priorities and WHY we bought the game. A Broader Thought: As someone somewhat involved in the industry, it puzzles me why developers (not necessary Games Of Tomorrow GmbH in IRR …

game has good bones, but I guess I just don't like extraction shooters that have no PvP aspect. I mean I thought Hell Divers was fun, but it's a different vibe.

Really rough, this game is going to need a lot longer to cook and I'm just not interested in play testing in the game's current state. It's cool to see their AI modeling process videos but in it's current state, the AI is pretty bad. AI has homing skills, they can find you no matter what. Along with that, stealth and camouflaging are non-existent as you can fire at AI, move 100 meters away to hide and the AI will make a beeline right towards you. AI is either super dumb at shooting or they're John ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Rambo. There's not much to do in the game yet, the missions are pretty lackluster so far. Maps are decent but you can get stuck in a lot of weird spots, which makes the experience super frustrating. This game is going to need quite a few more years to get there, so we'll check back later but at this point I do not recommend as there are far currently better other complete and Early Access experiences.
