Jixo: The Season of Joy Collector's Edition

This game came recommended by several people who received it for free. At first glance, it certainly is visually appealing with very pretty pictures. But problems immediately arose with the locked box game, which was wholly unplayable. I left a note about that, hoping for help from the developers, but got no response, even after two days. After trying again to play on a second day, I requested a refund, but what do you know. I gave the game too much of a chance, so no, I get to keep it. Well, at least I can pass on the news about the other elements. The jigsaw game is okay and works fine. The torn pieces game seems a bit pointless, but also works okay. The hidden object game seems fine at first playing -- until you realise that the objects do not vary from image to image. I played three of these, and the identical items came up in all of them-. Gotta try a bit harder than that. The matching game (think clutter) also initially played okay. Until a correct match just wasn't accepted. How do I know it was a correct match? Very much enjoyed this game, it ended to soon. I really liked the Locked Box levels. You could give me a full game with that kind of levels

A beautiful game with many hog scenes filled with many different puzzles including jigsaw and also has a game where it requires you to move all boxes off the screen to complete the level (love this). It is a great game and it is worth the money, I played over 5 hours and still am not done yet. You'll definitely get your money worth as it comes with long gameplay and it also can be replayed.

I wish there was a "neutral" rating on Steam, because this doesn't really get a "yes" from me, but I don't want to bash it either. If you like jigsaw puzzles, it's OK, because about half of the game is some type of jigsaw puzzle variant (traditional jigsaw, "find where this bit matches in the scene", or swap 2). The other games are HOS, pick-2 clutter game, and a slider puzzle variant in which you must move all the pieces off the playfield. The base game is a bit on the short side comprising 9 "chapters" each containing 6 levels, which I don't mind in these days of a bazillion games coming out constantly and me being a completionist. You earn gold from playing each level and picking up bonus coins as they randomly appear in levels, which are used to "buy" (unlock) the CE bonus levels. The CE extra levels are 6 mahjong layouts, 6 solitaire layouts, and 3 dice-matching games, where you must group 3 or more of the same die to make a die of the next higher number. Matching 3 sixes gives you a star cube, which can only be matched with other star cubes. A fun game with beautiful seasonal pictures and a variety of puzzle types. I particularly enjoyed the Locked Box puzzles (a variant of slider puzzle where you need to remove all tiles on a board based on their directional arrows) and the Switch puzzles (a jigsaw-like puzzle that you complete by rearranging squares). An added feature of being able to select the number of pieces both for the Switch puzzles and the regular jigsaw puzzles was nice and allowed variation in gameplay based on how adventuresome you were feeling at the moment, plus replay value as you could challenge yourself with increasing sizes. The Hidden Object scenes contained a number of objects cleverly (and sometimes fiendishly) hidden in seemingly plain sight - the availability of extremely easily-accessed methods for zooming and panning about the scene was a particularly nice feature for these puzzle types. I also liked the Stamp Match puzzles (a challenging clutter-like game featuring pretty stamps). A welcome addition for future games would be to add bonus points for quick combinations, since it was fun to see how quickly pairs could be spotted, but a bit disappointing to have no tangible "reward" for doing so.…
