Journey to the Heart of Gaia

I bought this on sale to help keep my stock of hidden object games to play. I wish I were kidding, but I have played quite a lot on here. This wasn't a developer or publisher I had bought a hidden object game from before, so I bought this as part of a bundle of a few other games which I plan to play and review all of. But this was actually a nice surprise. I thought it was a great game that does things a bit differently than some of the others I played. It was a good challenge as well, the puzzles were very well designed. The stories in hidden object games can be very hit or miss, sometimes it's translated and there is some story beats that just don't quite make it through the translation, or sometimes the developer is assuming you are just wanting to get to the puzzles and so there is just the barest minimum of a plot and all it does is drive you to the puzzles. But this game felt like more attention was paid to making a full story with different characters and an overall goal. There are a lot of named characters, and you do meet and travel with some of the characters who have their own personalities. This was a beautiful looking game with cute elements, for example a lot of animals. I would even describe it as a game suitable for children too (but not only for kids), because you won't find any kind of violence there and it does feel like a fairy tale. You are even going to encounter some dinosaurs there. The puzzles are sometimes very easy, but then some of them are really hard. I needed to check for one of them a walkthrough and two I've skipped completely (should mention though that I've played this game in advanced mode). The boss fight(s) weren't really exhausting in my eyes, but maybe that's the price we have to pay for a none-violent entertainment? So yes, I can recommend this game for sure. But only if you aren't scared off the thought, that this developer won't respond anymore. Hopefully the reason for that got nothing to do with the current war...

Journey to the Heart of Gaia is a light fantasy adventure developed and published by Frogwares that leans into classic point-and-click design while wrapping it in a colorful, storybook presentation. Enjoyed that a lot. Tough in places, but still able to complete it in Advanced mode and only needed help on one puzzle. Lot of work gone into the artwork.

This is a new type of casual game for Frogwares. Mostly puzzles (which can get annoy after a while), this game is set in a cartoony Underworld. Although not as fun as their earlier seek and find games, this one is ok.

Nice game. It has quite a lot of different scenarios. There were only two things that bothered me: a) I couldn't find some of the places without help b) most of the tasks had to be solved three times in a row. But I bought it for 0.90 € so..good deal.
